Setting up birthday discounts and greetings in Torgsoft: step-by-step instructions
Step 1. Filling out the customer database
For the discount to work, the customer must be entered into the program's database.
To collect data, print paper forms: go to the Marketing -> Print customer forms menu. You can choose a standard template or a template for entering children's data.
Fill out the electronic customer card: Marketing -> Customers.
Be sure to specify: full name, phone number, date of issue of the discount card.
To provide a discount in honor of a child's birthday: go to the Family composition tab and add the names and dates of birth of the customer's children.
To allow taking goods on credit: check the VIP customer box.
Step 2. Setting up conditions for the birthday discount
Go to the Settings -> Parameters -> Discounts tab menu. Configure the following fields:
% Birthday discount: specify the discount percentage.
Action for birthday discount: select from the list whether this discount "Replaces customer discount" or "Adds to customer discount".
Use of birthday discount: choose a restriction on the frequency of use (once; without restrictions for a set period; without restrictions for one day after the first use).
Validity period: fill in the Days before birthday and Days after birthday fields.
Accrual format (bonuses or discount): if you use a bonus system, activate the Provide birthday discount to bonus customers in the form of a bonus switch.
Age limit: if the discount applies to children, specify the age in the Age limit (years) field. Upon reaching this age, the discount will not be provided (to cancel restrictions, enter the value "0").
Product group: specify the group of products to which this discount applies. If the field is left empty, the discount will apply to all products.
Visual accompaniment: in the same window, you can upload an image for a photo greeting, which will appear on the screen when scanning the birthday person's card. To add audio accompaniment, go to Settings -> Sounds, select the Birthday photo greeting event and upload a .wav file.
Step 3. Setting up free gifts (if necessary)
If instead of a discount you issue an item for free:
Create a separate product group (for example, "Gifts") in the Merchandising -> Product groups menu.
On the Discounts tab, in the Product group of the birthday discount field, select the created group of gifts.
Set the discount size to 100%.
Step 4. Setting up reminders and sending greetings
Reminders in the program: when selecting a customer in the "Sales" mode, the program will automatically show an image in the lower right corner if the customer or their child has a birthday coming up soon. You can also specify the number of days in the Days before greeting field.
SMS and e-mail mailings: carried out if the additional option "Mass SMS and e-mail mailing" is activated. Sending occurs through integrated services (for example, TurboSMS, AlphaSMS).
You can create an automatic template with the mailing type Happy birthday in the Settings -> Parameters -> Discounts -> Happy birthday greetings menu.
Postal letters: to send paper cards, go to Marketing -> Family composition and click the Print envelopes button to print an envelope with the customer's address.
