What are Dynamic Characteristics?

Dynamic characteristics in Torgsoft are additional product parameters that allow you to describe products in detail based on their properties, which may change. For example, for a phone, these may include internal memory, RAM, screen size, material, etc.

What are Dynamic Characteristics used for?

The main feature of dynamic characteristics is that they are not static and can change for different batches of products or individual items.

In Torgsoft, these characteristics are used for:

• Displaying products with specific characteristics in the online store.

• With dynamic characteristics, you can create side filters to quickly find the necessary product parameters.

• Generating reports in Torgsoft on products considering specific characteristics.

• Integration with systems like Google Merchant Center for further advertising of products on search platforms.

How to Create Dynamic Characteristics?

To create unique characteristics for each product, you must first create them in the section: Merchandising > Product Type.

Example of Creating Dynamic Characteristics

1. How to Find Dynamic Characteristic Settings

For example, let's create a dynamic characteristic Internal Memory with values of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB:

• In the Torgsoft program, go to the section: Merchandising > Product Type

• In the window Product Type Settings, select the product type 10 lite > Edit.

• On the right side of the window, select Show Additional Product Parameters.

• In the expanded field Product Dynamic Characteristics, select Add.

• A window will open: Parameter Directory > Add > Parameter Description.

2. Description of Dynamic Characteristic Parameters

• In the Parameter Description settings, on the right side of the window, select Category > Directory.

• The form Parameter Category > will open, enter the name, for example, Online Store > confirm by clicking Save.

• In the Parameter Description settings, in the Name field, enter the characteristic Internal Memory.

• In the Code field, enter it in Latin letters with underscores vnutrishnia_pamyat, possibly using transliteration.

• In the Data Type, choose the type name String Value Directory. A list of additional parameters will open.

In the Data Type field, you can functionally configure how the dynamic characteristic will be formed. For product descriptions, it is preferable to use String Value Directory, String, or Text.

String Value Directory is used to create a list of allowable parameter values. This allows you to select the necessary parameter from a pre-created list in the product card, ensuring that all employees use agreed parameter values when working with products.

String is used when a characteristic needs to be created directly in the product card, which is highly specific to the product type, such as individual dimensions, types of internal components, etc.

• In the Field Length, enter the number 255. For program optimization, the length should not exceed this value.

• Select Directory F6 > in the Value Directory > Internal Memory, select Add, enter the value 64 GB > Save. In the same way, enter 128 GB, 256 GB > Save. The values can be expanded later.

• In Parameter Description, confirm by clicking Save.

The program will prompt you to perform an update. After setting all parameters, you need to execute this suggestion!

• In the program's update prompt, click Yes.

• Select the parameter Internal Memory > confirm by clicking Select.

• In the Product Type window, check for the presence of the dynamic characteristic Internal Memory > Save.

Add the next dynamic characteristic in the same way, one by one, as many as you need.

Attention! Don't forget to restart the program!

Setting Dynamic Characteristics in the Product Card

Created dynamic characteristics must be entered into the product card. To do this:

• Select the window Warehouse > Warehouse Status > open the product you need.

• In the Product settings in the Additional Product Parameters section, select the data for the characteristic > Save.
