How to connect and configure Google Search Console for an online store
Google Search Console
Google Search Console is a free tool from Google that helps website owners see how their site appears in search results. It allows you to track errors, view traffic statistics, and improve site visibility in Google.
How to connect Google Search Console to an online store
Log in to Google Search Console

-
Go to the Google Search Console website.
-
Log in to your Google account (create one if you don't have one yet).
Add your site

On the homepage, click Add Property.
-
Enter your site address: Domain — choose this option if you can add a DNS record to your domain.
-
URL prefix — choose if you want to connect a specific protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) or subdomain (www or without www).
Verify that you own the site
Google needs to verify that you indeed manage this site. Here are the verification options:
-
DNS record — add a TXT record to your domain's DNS settings. If your site is hosted via Cloudflare, Google Search Console will ask you to add the TXT record specifically in Cloudflare's settings.
-
Google Analytics — you can verify if you have Google Analytics set up already.
-
Google Tag Manager — verification if you're using Google Tag Manager.
Complete the verification
After selecting the verification method, click "Verify". It may take a few minutes, and you will receive a notification about the successful connection.
Setting up and using Google Search Console

-
Choose the main version of the site — with "www" or without "www".
-
View reports — in the "Performance" section, you will see how many times the site appeared in search results, the number of clicks, the average position, and other information.
