How to update Torgsoft by yourself

Torgsoft is software for automating entrepreneurial activities, providing ease of use even for users without specialized accounting knowledge. Software updates are released approximately once per quarter and are free for all users.

Updates are only possible towards newer versions, downgrading to previous versions is not possible.

Before updating, you should decide if there are significant reasons for upgrading to a newer version.

In newer versions of Torgsoft, the update downloads automatically, and you only need to agree to its installation. However, if for some reason you decide to update the software manually, you can follow this guide.

Sequence of Updating Torgsoft Software

1. Synchronization for Torgsoft-Hybrid

• If you are using Torgsoft-Hybrid, be sure to synchronize your data before updating and ensure that all packages have been transferred. After that, you can proceed with the update.

2. Logout of Remote Users

• All remote users must log out of the software before the update begins.

3. Running the Program on the Server

• On the main computer (server), where the program directory is located, you need to run Torgsoft under the "Owner" role. This operation must be performed from an account that is part of the operating system's "Administrators" group.

4. Backing Up the Database

• Before starting the update, create a backup of your database:

Open Torgsoft, go to File → Backup → Save Database. By default, the archive will be saved in the directory C:\Journal Torgsoft.

Additionally, it is recommended to copy the file Torgsoft.exe from the TORGSOFT folder to the journal.

5. Determining the Current Version of the Software

• To check the current version of the software:

Open the Help menu → About the Software. The window will display the current version number.

6. Downloading Update Packages

• For database versions up to 479 (Torgsoft version 2018.0.26), all update versions must be installed sequentially, without skipping any. For example, if your computer has version 9.1.11.9, and you need to update to 9.2.2.7, you should first install the intermediate version 9.2.0.10 and then 9.2.2.7. Download the necessary packages from the "Updates" section of the official Torgsoft website by clicking on the corresponding download links.
• Starting with database version 479 and later, you can update only to stable versions, skipping beta versions.

7. Installing the Update

• Open Torgsoft, go to Settings → Download Update Package. Select the necessary file from the directory and click Open. The software will automatically install the update and restart.

8. Updating User Roles

• After updating the version, go to Settings → Role Settings (or Settings → Access → Role Settings in some versions). In the window, click Update Roles. In some versions, roles are updated automatically.

9. Reinstalling the Application Server (if necessary)

• If, after the update, you receive a message about discrepancies in the application server versions, it does not affect the core functionality of the software but may impact the operation of the Torgsoft mobile app or the automatic database backup feature. In such a case, you need to reinstall the application server.

10. Updating the Torgsoft Mobile App

• If you use the Torgsoft mobile app, it also needs to be updated after updating the database and the application server. To do this:

Remove the old version of the app from your mobile device.

Clear the device's cache.

Install the new version of the mobile app, downloaded from the official Torgsoft website.

11. Updating Torgsoft-Hybrid

• After synchronization and ensuring that all data packages have been transferred, make a backup of the program folder. Remove the old version of Torgsoft-Hybrid via the Windows Control Panel or by using the UnInstall.exe file. Download the new version from the official website and install it. After installation, configure the connection to the database and perform the first online sale to check the program's functionality.
