Many people know that the government passed bill 8401, and among its provisions is the return of fines from October 1, 2023, for selling goods without a cash register (ECR).
As in December 2021, many entrepreneurs have postponed the implementation of ECR until the last moment, even until the last week.
Currently, Torgsoft is receiving many requests and has a heavy load on technical support. We ask for your understanding. However, we are here to help.
How to handle ECR by yourself?
If you haven't managed to purchase an ECR, you can activate the Torgsoft software ECR option for free and use it for 30 days.

How to make goods fiscal?
Note that for goods to be sold as fiscal:
- You must have a registered ECR with the tax office and make appropriate settings in the Torgsoft accounting program.
- In the Merchandise Management section, the type of goods must have a fiscal indicator.
- The national currency in Torgsoft must be hryvnia.
- In the settings, you need to select mandatory receipt printing. Printing the receipt is a mandatory condition for recording the sale of fiscal goods. The mandatory receipt printing setting should be enabled even if there is no printer. This is necessary for the program to generate electronic receipts and send them to the tax server. So, if there are no printers, just select PDF printing in the settings. If you want to send receipts to the tax office but do not want to print them, you need to configure the "Do not print paper receipt" parameter in Torgsoft.
Joint operation of ECR and bank terminal
If you have a bank POS terminal installed in your store, it must be connected to the accounting program using the «Connecting the bank terminal» option. This is necessary for the bank terminal's details to be automatically transferred to the ECR receipt. Otherwise, you will have to do it manually, which is not very convenient.

How to switch to Torgsoft ECR?

Torgsoft software, including the software ECR, is a tool for recording payment transactions that operates on the user's devices and offers flexible settings. According to clause 11.2 of the License Agreement, the software is provided "as is," and Torgsoft does not guarantee its compliance with user expectations, equivalents, or standards not specified in the official specification. Since there are more than 25 types of fiscal receipts in Ukraine depending on the industry and payment methods, it is recommended to obtain official clarifications from tax authorities regarding receipt compliance with legal requirements before using the software ECR.
