How to congratulate customers on their birthday
15.05.2019 08:58We can congratulate our beloved customers:
- by e-mail (emails are created in the program and automatically sent to those who have a birthday soon). This uses the "Mass mailing" option;
- via SMS (also sent automatically to those who have a birthday soon using "Mass mailing" through the "TurboSms" service)
- by postal mail and postcard (which is now quite rare). In this case, you can open an envelope with the recipient's address from the program. This is done in the Marketing mode -> Family Composition -> "Print Envelopes" button.

Customer questionnaire data can be entered either manually into a paper Client Questionnaire (printed directly from the program in Marketing - "Print client questionnaires"), or directly into the program in the client's card. We can enter the client's and their children's full names, the buyer's and their family members' dates of birth, their phone number, and email address, as well as postal address. We can also specify whether they are a wholesale or retail customer (or both), and assign them a VIP status - which will give them the right to take goods on credit.
A question might arise. Customers are already tired of filling out various questionnaires and having multiple discount cards. How do you motivate them to leave their data? When asking them to fill out the form, immediately mention that all this information is needed to receive a special discount or gift for their birthday.
To activate the special discount or birthday bonus, go to the Settings menu --- Parameters, find the Discounts tab. Here we need to specify the size and conditions of the discounts. Discounts are marked in green on the image, and the periods when they activate are marked in yellow.
What to specify:
- the percentage of the "special" birthday discount;
- whether it will be added to the discount on the discount card, if any;
- the discount validity period: how many days BEFORE and AFTER the birthday the discount will be active;
- whether the discount will apply once during this period or as many times as the customer comes to the store;
- whether the discount will be "bonus" (accumulated on the bonus card) or "cash";
- whether all customers will get the discount or only children (setting age restrictions);
- "Birthday Discount Product Group" - here we can set the group(s) of products that the discount will/will not apply to;
- you can upload your own image and musical accompaniment (in the "Sounds" settings menu), which will appear when the discount is activated. How the default greeting looks is shown here.
If you want to give gifts to customers on their birthday
If you want to give some goods for free on the customer's birthday, it would be wise to allocate a group of these gift items and specify it in the "Birthday Discount Product Group" field. Then we set the birthday discount to 100%, and specify the product that will be given for free. Typically, these are inexpensive but always useful items. For example, photo frames or photo albums, household items, souvenirs, stationery, branded items with your logo. All of this is determined by the direction of your store.
You can even create a separate branch of the "Customer Gifts" item type and include items specially purchased for gifts.
How the program notifies you of customers' birthdays
To have the program notify you that some customers' birthdays are coming up, you need to fill in the "Days to birthday for greeting" field in the settings. Then, when you launch the program, you will see a reminder window with a list of upcoming birthdays. You can send greeting messages (SMS or e-mail) by clicking the "Congratulate" button.
Note. This notification and the ability to send messages will only be available if you have the additional "Mass mailing" option activated in the program.
The text of the greeting message (or SMS) that the customer will receive can also be prepared in advance. To do this, fill in the "Mailing template for greetings" in the settings. The text can include variables (customer's full name, their discount, and its validity period), as well as images or links to your website.
Tip: write the most "human" texts possible, do not limit yourself to just advertising the discount. Similarly, you can congratulate your customers' children.
