Let's talk about planning. It is an integral part of business management. Without it, confident development is impossible. Planning is a comprehensive concept, it should cover all business processes in the store. Today we will focus on sales.

Life story

We were inspired to create this article by the story of one of the Torgsoft users. He decided to set his employees a sales plan for the month. He announced the final amount he would like to receive and the percentage of the bonus that will be paid to the salespeople.

The employees took up the task with redoubled energy, and the results of the month surprised the entrepreneur: sales increased by 100%!

Why? Obviously, before the innovation, trade was already going well, but the staff performance planning added a competitive ("Are you weak?!") and motivating ("I work well - I get more money!") effect to their work. The result was more than just convincing!

What amount should be allocated, and who should make the decision?

There are many different methods of making a plan, ranging from "finger in the sky" to complex mathematical calculations with numerous variables.

The sales plan can be set by the owner based on previous results - this information will be provided by the Period analysis (Analysis menu) in Torgsoft. In this case, the owner assumes responsibility and risks for non-fulfillment. You can also instruct your employees to set the amount, but you will not be insured against an underestimated plan. The best way is to join forces and set viable goals.

Some companies take the amount of sales for a particular month in the previous year, add the percentage of inflation and another 10-15%. Others act on the basis of the previous month's results + 20-30%.

When drawing up a plan, you should take into account the expansion or contraction of the product line, seasonality, inflation rate (if calculated in national currency), competitors, economic and political changes, and other factors.
