Recently we installed the program at a lingerie store "Milavitsa". It was a very informative day - we learned about the features of selling and accounting for this type of goods. The owner of the store Natalia explained, why she chose the Torgsoft program:
"I analyzed and compared several options, tried the demo version, and came to the conclusion, that the Torgsoft program is the best for accounting lingerie!".
During the communication and training it became clear, what exactly requirements for trading in lingerie stores are met by Torgsoft. We will tell you about this and, why this charming woman captivated us in this article.

Lingerie labeling with barcodes

It turned out that lingerie already has manufacturer barcodes, with each size having its own separate barcode. This is very convenient, as there is no need to print and stick your own labels. (Unfortunately, not all lingerie manufacturers are so foresighted, but in Milavitsa lingerie - they are).

Some lingerie brands come without barcodes at all (only an article number), while others have the same barcode for the entire size range. In such cases, the program will generate barcodes for each size and print them on the price tags. The program will then keep inventory records not only by models but also by sizes.

By the way, such goods are very conveniently sold by article number (manufacturer's code). This is especially true for outlets where lingerie is sold wholesale - there is no need to scan each item, it is enough to select the desired models by code or name fragment.

Unusual size designations

Different manufacturers use different methods for marking lingerie sizes - these can be numerical, letter or mixed designations. The Torgsoft program is not strictly limited to only one size grid and allows any size designations, which is especially typical for lingerie. For example:

  • 85D, 75B, 70A, 75C ...
  • S, M, L, XL, etc.
  • 42-44, 46-48, 50, 52 or 90-94, 94-98, 99-102, 103-106
  • 8, 10, 12, 14, 16
  • 36, 38, 40, 42 ....

Automatic loading of incoming invoices 

Our store owner was lucky - her lingerie suppliers ("Milavitsa", "Orhideja" and others) provide invoices for shipped goods in electronic form in Excel format. This means, that there is no need to enter all received goods into the program manually, the incoming invoice can be uploaded automatically, it only remains to set the retail prices. It turned out, that almost all brand lingerie suppliers send invoices in electronic form. 

Before our arrival Natalia had already successfully imported the file of the incoming invoice into the program, so we move on.

Product selection by size

A useful mode for a lingerie store is the ability to search for products by size. By pressing one button the seller can quickly tell, which models of lingerie in the required customer size are available. After all the buyer can ask - "What do you have IN MY SIZE?". For such cases there is a very simple form. Conversely, by setting the model, you can see what sizes are available.

For VIP clients: taking goods for fitting or on credit

Situation. While we were conducting the training, a young woman with a child (as it turned out - a regular customer) came to the store, who could not try on the chosen set in the fitting room. She was allowed to take the goods home for fitting, without payment. And the fact of issuing the goods on credit was recorded in the program, using the VIP-client mode.
Now the program will track settlements with this customer: when and what goods he took, how much money he paid and how much he still owes.

Printing receipts

Another example. A woman came to the store to buy lingerie for an elderly friend. The choice was made "by eye". The buyer paid for the goods, agreeing with the owner, that if it does not fit - she will come to exchange within an hour. The customer was issued a sales receipt. If the goods do not fit, this receipt will serve as a basis for exchange. According to the law on consumer protection, lingerie is not subject to exchange or return, but in this case the fact of issuing a sales receipt confirms the owner's permission to take the goods "for fitting".

Customer order accounting

Sometimes lingerie stores accept requests from customers for a rare model or a model of a non-standard size or deliver goods to order from the catalog (for example, online lingerie stores). In this case the mode "Customer order" will be useful, which allows to record the order placed, accept a prepayment and issue a payment receipt.

Accounting for multiple outlets

In addition to the store, our entrepreneur has another outlet at the market. The owner faced the task of keeping track of sales and inventory for both of these points, and doing it on one computer. The difficulty was that it is impossible to use a computer and barcode scanner at the market - it is an open space, no place, no internet, and the volume of sales is not so large. It was suggested to label the goods with barcode labels and print an invoice with retail prices for the goods sent to the market. When selling, the seller removes the barcode labels and leaves them as a sales report. In the evening, when handing over the proceeds, the owner takes the "report" and scans the barcodes to enter the sold goods into the program. The program data and the actual proceeds should match.

Sales through a bank terminal

Now almost all stores have terminals for card payment. If the buyer wants to pay by bank card - no problem. The seller enters the amount of the purchase, presses the button "Cashless payment" and the amount of this purchase will be displayed in the program in the corresponding section. The cash report at the end of the day shows all operations with money receipts and issuance of goods.

Discount cards, discounts and gift certificates

In the end, we set up a discount system in the store. It was decided to issue 2 types of discount cards - with a fixed 10% discount (for the most respected customers), and cards with an accumulative discount system, where as purchases are made, the discount increases from 3% to 10%. The program automatically tracks the amount of customer purchases and transfers them to the next discount level.

To sell off last season's collections or non-standard models and sizes, the program has a Product Discount (when the price of selected goods or groups of goods is reduced) and a Promotion mode - when the discount starts only when the customer meets certain conditions and terms.

And of course, Gift Certificates, well, how could it be without them! After all, the Milavitsa store gift certificate is a wonderful "women's" holiday and an occasion to give a certificate for the purchase of lingerie. A store like "Milavitsa" would be a sin not to use this way of creating additional sales.
Working with certificates is very simple and profitable - the program keeps records of sold certificates, to whom it was sold, and what its denomination is. When buying, the barcode on the certificate is scanned, and the program registers that the goods were paid for with this certificate.

According to Natalia, in their small town there are several specialized lingerie stores, and there are also departments in shopping centers.

"We value our regular customers. Firstly, they are the basis of stable sales. Our goods are not cheap, and not of first necessity. Mostly, purchases in our store are driven by women's moods, impulses, and celebrations of the soul. Secondly, it's pleasant when people come to us as old friends - just to look around, to check out new arrivals, for gifts, to please themselves... Women tell us about their births, weddings, and who needs a set for a wedding or graduation. I believe that loyalty programs in our store must be in place to support this atmosphere of humanity, because only this way can you live and work."
