What are Synchronization Sections?

A synchronization section is an element that links a product type with an online store category. Without this element, the online store software cannot gather information from your store.

Why are Synchronization Sections Needed?

  • Synchronization sections in Torgsoft are necessary to determine which data from the database will be synchronized with online stores.

  • With synchronization sections, you can configure which specific categories or groups of products will be synchronized with the online store.

  • Create synchronization section categories without linking them to the product type structure, as types may not be created as you'd like them to appear in your online store.

Requirements for Creating Synchronization Sections:

Synchronization Section Creation Requirements

Let’s Review and Create Synchronization Sections:

1. Creating a Synchronization Section for the General Product Type:

  • In the Torgsoft program, go to the tab: Merchandising > Product Type.

  • In the Product Type Settings window, select the general product type, for example, Trade Equipment.

  • In the tabs, click Edit.

  • In the opened Product Type window, find Synchronization Section and select List.

  • A window Synchronization Section for Online Store will open, select Add Current.

  • Enter the name of the general product type section, which may be the same as the main type Trade Equipment.

  • Then, enter the section number. It must be unique, should not be negative or equal to zero.

  • Confirm by selecting Save > Select.

  • In the opened Product Type window, select Save

2. Creating a Synchronization Section for the First-Level Subordinate Product Type:

  • In the Torgsoft program, go to the tab: Merchandising > Product Type.

  • In the Product Type Settings window, select the subordinate Trade Equipment > Torgsoft > Edit > go to Synchronization Section > select List.

  • In the Synchronization Section settings for Online Store > select Add Subordinate.

  • Enter the name of the subordinate section, which may be the same as the selected subordinate type Torgsoft.

  • Enter the section number. It must be unique, should not be negative or equal to zero.

  • Confirm by selecting Save > Select.

  • In the opened Product Type window, select Save.

3. Creating a Synchronization Section for the Second-Level Subordinate Product Type:

  • In the Torgsoft program, go to the tab: Merchandising > Product Type.

  • In the Product Type Settings window, select the subordinate 'Trade Equipment' > Torgsoft > Product > Edit > go to Synchronization Section > select List.

  • In the Synchronization Section for Online Store settings > select Add Subordinate.

  • Enter the name of the subordinate section, which may be the same as the selected subordinate type Product.

  • Enter the section number. It must be unique, should not be negative or equal to zero.

  • Confirm by selecting Save > Select.

  • In the opened Product Type window, select Save

4. Creating a Synchronization Section for Managing Online Store Display

  • For example, choose the product name Torgsoft Product 10 Lite. The product type structure will look like this:

  • Now, if the category 10 Lite does not need to be displayed in the online store, it can be merged with the Product type. Thus, the categories in the online store will be displayed as: Trade Equipment > Torgsoft > Product, and 10 Lite will only be included in the product name.

A properly created product type structure allows for easy manipulation of product category display in the online store. Creating a Product Type

Conclusion

Synchronization sections are key elements that ensure the link between product type categories and the online store. They must meet certain requirements: be unique, have positive numerical values, and not contain special characters. Creating synchronization sections in Torgsoft involves a sequential process that includes selecting appropriate product categories and setting unique numbers for each product type level.
