What to do if a street is renamed?

Streets, districts, and cities have been renamed in Ukraine for several years now. Despite this, many entrepreneurs do not know when to make changes to their registration documents and whether they need to do so at all. Let's find out.

There is no legal deadline for individuals or legal entities to amend their registration documents in connection with the renaming of a street, district, village, city, etc. In other words, this can be done whenever the need arises, for example, when changing types of activities or registering a sole proprietorship.

Registration of a sole proprietorship and old data in the passport

Many citizens do not need to make changes to their residence until they are faced with obtaining public services, such as selling real estate or registering as a sole proprietor.

If someone decides to register as an entrepreneur, they need to submit an application to the registrar and indicate their address of residence, and the street, district or city must already be renamed.

If you submit documents in person to the registrar, he will check the data in the application against the data in your passport, so you need to make changes to your passport before you start registering as a sole proprietor. If the application for registration of a sole proprietorship is submitted online on the Diia website, then the application must include the renamed street name, even if the passport has not been changed.

In order to update the data on the residence in the passport, you need to contact the ASC. A new street or city name will be written in the old passport (booklet), and changes will be made to the chip in the new passport (ID-card), after which you can get a new certificate of residence registration. Changes are made free of charge.

After making a change to your passport, you need to notify the tax office at your place of residence by submitting an application in Form 5-DR within a month.

How to make changes to the registration documents of a sole proprietorship?

If a sole proprietor has been registered for a long time and his street or city has been renamed, he can make changes to his registration data at any time. To do this, you need to contact any ASC within Ukraine or a notary.

To make changes, a sole proprietor submits an Application Form 1, while legal entities submit an Application Form 2.
When filling out the application, legal entities are required to provide information in the column "Status of information about the ultimate beneficial owner". If the ultimate beneficiary does not change, check the box "up to date". You also need to check the address specified in the charter. If the address is old, you need to submit with the application the charter with the new address and the minutes of the shareholders' meeting.

The application can be submitted personally by an entrepreneur, director or authorized representative. If the documents are submitted by an authorized representative, a notarized power of attorney will be required.

After submitting the application, the registrar will make the changes within a day and notify the tax authorities on its own. You do not need to pay for the changes.

Do I need to re-register a cash register in connection with the renaming of a street?

If you renamed the street and made changes to your registration documents, then you need to re-register the cash register or ECR.

To update the information, you need to submit an application to the tax office in the form of 1-ECR (or 1-ECR) marked "Re-registration", with a new address and an old registration certificate. The tax office will then issue a new registration certificate.

Also, don't forget to submit Form 20-OPP with the new address. The form must be submitted simultaneously with the 1-ECR application.

Does a VAT payer need to re-register?

No, it is not required. These requirements are excluded from the TCU, so you do not need to submit an application in the form of 1-PDV.

Do I need to make changes to the register of single tax payers?

If the sole proprietor has updated the data and made changes to the registration documents, he needs to update the information in the Register of Single Tax Payers. To do this, you need to submit an Application for the application of the simplified taxation system marked "Making changes".

For sole proprietors of groups 1 and 2 of the single tax, the deadline for submitting the Application is the 20th day of the month in which the change occurred, for group 3 - the last day of the quarter in which the change occurred.
