For which goods did the state cancel price regulation?
09.10.2024 17:34May 28, 2024, the Government of Ukraine officially canceled the limitation on trade markups for food products and items of epidemic importance.
On one hand, this decision allows Ukrainian businesses to earn more, as the markup covers all organizational costs and allows for profit generation.
On the other hand, this only applies to goods of social importance. The full list of such products can be found on the website of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
Which products are no longer subject to retail price regulation?
-
buckwheat,
-
granulated sugar,
-
pasta,
-
non-carbonated mineral water,
-
butter with a fat content not exceeding 72.5%,
-
gasoline A-92 and A-95,
-
diesel fuel,
-
natural gas.
Which products still have markup control?
The restriction on trade markups applies to the following food products:
-
rye and wheat bread;
-
premium wheat flour;
-
refined sunflower oil;
-
poultry (chicken carcasses, quarters);
-
pasteurized milk with a fat content not exceeding 2.5%;
-
chicken eggs marked 1С.
Therefore, for these food products, the entrepreneur may apply a trade markup of no more than 10%, in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution №650.
If consumers discover cases of price overcharging on products from this list, they can file a complaint with the local State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection. Therefore, to avoid violating consumer rights, it is essential to stay informed about current changes in legislation.
Let us remind you that the maximum trade markup for some food products was established by the government during the martial law period. This markup cannot exceed 10%.
