Brama cyber project protects Ukraine's information space from Russian propaganda
23.04.2024 17:11The war is not just about territorial integrity. Russian propaganda is trying to penetrate the Ukrainian information space using unarmed methods. This was reported by Oleh Dubin, Head of the Cybercrime Department in Kyiv.
Disinformation on the Internet has a negative impact on people's consciousness and the course of the war in general, so netizens must be careful and be able to recognize fakes and propaganda. To combat these threats, the Cyber Police Department, together with volunteers, created the BRAMA social project.
The BRAMA project aims to protect the media space from Russian propaganda, blocking channels for the dissemination of disinformation, illegal and prohibited content. The project also aims to improve the media literacy of Ukrainians, reduce the impact of propaganda on society, and promote safe behavior on the Internet.

What is the Brama project about?
First and foremost, the Brama social project is a synergy of citizens, the private and public sectors in countering disinformation and illegal content in the information space.
The main goal of the project is to cleanse the information space of Russian propaganda and disinformation, and to destroy centers of illegal distribution of illegal and prohibited content.
To block a source, citizens need to file complaints, and the more complaints there are, the more likely the source will be blocked. It is for this purpose that the project developers invite users to join BRAMA.
Participants are invited to:
-
The ability to report the source of unacceptable content for further mass complaints by the community and subsequent blocking of such a source.
-
Help to block the source of inappropriate content by joining the mass complaint process.
-
Get advice on media and cyber literacy.
-
Be aware of dangerous fraud schemes that are spreading online.
-
Be aware of the fakes that enemies promote in the country's media space.
In addition, the authors of the project offer participants entertaining content that will allow them to take a break from their tasks and enjoy the successes of the Ukrainian military and the stupid actions of our common enemy.
