Sanctions Against russian Software

17.08.2024 13:57

Mykhailo Fedorov

On August 16, 2024, the Ukrainian government supported a bill that prohibits the use of software and access to websites associated with countries under sanctions. This includes software developed in russia or other sanctioned states, as well as sites and services that threaten national security.

The bill prohibits the use of:

  • Software developed in countries under sanctions.
  • Software created by individuals under sanctions.
  • Websites and online services controlled by sanctioned individuals or organizations.

This is an important step in ensuring Ukraine's cybersecurity in the context of russia's military aggression.

It should be noted that among russian accounting programs are 1C, MoySklad, Bitrix24, Evotor, SBIS, Klass365, CloudShop, EKAM, LiteBox, Sigma.

Many Ukrainian companies still use russian software such as 1C, Bitrix24, and others. It's easy to notice this, for example, in some Ukrainian online stores by simply looking at the site’s code.

Continuing to use these programs carries serious risks - reputational, ethical, and financial:

  1. Funding the aggressor. Every purchase of a license or subscription to russian software is direct support for the economy of the terrorist state, which is waging war against Ukraine.
  2. Reputational losses. Ukrainian consumers are increasingly paying attention to the origin of the software used by companies. Using russian products can negatively affect a business’s image and lead to the loss of customers. Sooner or later, buyers or partners will notice that a business uses russian software and simply refuse to cooperate with such a business.
  3. Cybersecurity. russian software may contain vulnerabilities or hidden functions that can be used for cyberattacks or data theft. By using them, an entrepreneur not only risks their business but also the data of their clients.

Switching to Ukrainian software is not only a matter of security but also of preserving reputation and stability. It's important to make this transition as quickly as possible to avoid risking your company’s future.

1C Alternative: How to Switch to Torgsoft?

After the war began, many Ukrainian entrepreneurs decided to abandon russian software like 1C and switch to Ukrainian alternatives.

One of the best options is Torgsoft — a program for accounting goods, finances, managing personnel, and integrating with online stores.

Here's how to switch from 1C to Torgsoft in a few simple steps:

  1. Create categories of goods in Torgsoft through the menu "Merchandise Management → Type of Goods".
  2. Export data from 1C in Excel format, breaking down goods by categories.
  3. Edit the Excel files so that they have a simple structure without merged cells.
  4. Import goods into Torgsoft, specifying the necessary parameters (e.g., quantity of goods).
  5. Check the imported data in Torgsoft for accuracy (names of goods, prices, barcodes).
  6. Print price tags for all goods with one click.
  7. Import the customer list from 1C into Torgsoft.

By following these steps, you will be able to successfully switch from 1C to Torgsoft and continue running your business on Ukrainian software.
