How to change the password in a Torgsoft accounting program?

After installing Torgsoft, the standard password of the "Owner" user must be changed to limit the risk of unauthorized access to the program. This instruction shows how to change the password via the user card, as well as what should be considered so as not to lose access to the account.

Before changing the password, make sure that the new password is saved in a safe place and accessible only to those who have the right to work with the "Owner" account. If this password is lost, it will not be possible to restore it in the usual way through the interface. If you are not sure exactly who in the company should know the owner's password or how to securely organize access, it is better to first coordinate this with the responsible administrator or technical support.

How to change the password in Torgsoft

By default, the program sets the login sa and password 2009 for the owner. After installing the program, this password must indeed be changed.

Step 1. Log in to the program under the owner's account.

Step 2. In the main menu, go to the section «Settings» → «Users».

Step 3. In the list, select the user with the "Owner" role and click the «Edit» button (or the F3 key).

Step 4. In the opened user card, click the «Change password» button.

Step 5. In the window that appears, enter the new password and click «OK».

Step 6. The program will ask to confirm the password: enter it again and click «OK» again.

Step 7. Click the «Save» button in the user card itself to finally save the settings.

Done, the password has been changed.

Important nuances to consider:

• Empty passwords are prohibited. The program will not allow you to save a user without a password.
• Loss of the Owner's password. If you forget the new password, there is no usual way to restore it through the interface. To reset the password, you will have to install the SQL Server Management Studio utility and perform a reset through the database, or seek help from technical support. Be sure to remember or securely save the new password.
• Login from a flash drive. In the user card, it is possible to save the password on removable media (flash drive). This allows you to enter the program without entering a password from the keyboard, but creates a risk of unauthorized access if the media falls into the hands of unauthorized persons.
