6 (un)deadly sins of an entrepreneur

Sooner or later, each of us has faced problems in business. Often, entrepreneurs give up, unable to cope with the responsibility and stress. Let's analyze why this happens and try to find ways to fix the situation.

Expecting a quick result

One of the main pitfalls of business is the belief that if an idea is good, it will take off like lightning and start making a profit right away. Unfortunately, this almost never happens in practice. And this does not mean that the business is unsuccessful. It just takes a few years to develop, depending on the industry and other features! In addition, the idea of revenue at the beginning may be too optimistic. It's better to tune in to a realistic picture right away, roll up your sleeves, and work until the situation is completely stabilized.

Stuck in the past

Fear of the future, resistance to change, and dwelling on mistakes are the main enemies of business. After all, any business is about keeping up with the times, and in today's world, everything is changing very quickly. The future holds not only risks but also opportunities, and the fear of failure is cured by the thirst for success! In addition, even if you fail, it is not a signal to retreat, but a new opportunity. For example, to come up with some ingenious anti-crisis solution or to turn the vector in a completely different direction. Do not think that your problems are unique - look for clues from friends, acquaintances, and social media communities. Surely someone has already experienced something like this and can help you look into the future based on what you have now.

Weakness and self-doubt

When you feel weak and insecure, it means that you have lost your bearings and do not realize all your capabilities. The first thing to do is to remind yourself of your goals, aspirations, plans, and dreams. You may need to revise them and reprioritize them. It is normal for them to change over time. Yes, we always have something to lose. But it is very important to keep our focus on what we can gain. If you're feeling down, stop feeling sorry for yourself and identify your strengths (you'll see, you'll find that there are many more than weaknesses). Write them down on paper and repeat them often to yourself and others in conversations. For example, if you are good at analytics, say so: "I am good at analyzing, perhaps better than many others." Don't think of it as bragging, but as a self-confidence training.

The desire to disclaim responsibility

Human beings are weak, we think you know that. Sometimes we want to take the burden of responsibility off ourselves and put it on someone else! Remember how often we hear (or even say) phrases like: "It's impossible to do business in our country, it's being stifled." "These competitors - monopolists - put pressure at every step." "How can you plan anything in advance when our laws work so poorly?" Remember: the world owes you nothing. Everything you want, you can do on your own. Just stick to your values and guidelines, and you will definitely find your niche in the vast business sea.

Unscrupulous employees

It happens that you rely on people you trust completely for a long time, and they suddenly betray you. They join a competitor's team, taking your data with them, for example. This can severely undermine the management, especially if it happens in parallel with other cataclysms: stagnation, sales are falling, people are quitting en masse or can't cope with the amount of work ... Of course, the experience is bitter, but very powerful: no disaster will teach you to understand people as well as betrayal. And the job of a manager is basically working with people. So let's "cry it out" and move on!

Physical and emotional overload

Burnout is one of the most common ailments of an entrepreneur. Do not think that you are an immortal pony, it is an illusion. Be sure to take breaks for rest, take care of your health and self-development, devote enough time to family and solitude, and delegate responsibilities. Better yet, automate your business with the help of the Torgsoft program, giving yourself the opportunity to control the process without interrupting your rest and saving a huge amount of time.

And at the stop...

Our company also had some difficult times, for example, in 2014. At that time, the market shrank significantly, as many clients were located in the eastern part of Ukraine. Many entrepreneurs closed their businesses. Those who were a little stronger managed to restart their businesses in a new city. However, the company's adaptability philosophy allowed us to reorient ourselves in a short time and "pull ourselves together." That difficult period made us stronger, and we started a new round of development.

So we can safely say that you should never give up! Don't give up and be successful!
