The owner of MoyaMalva told us how quickly she switched from the Russian program to Torgsoft

More and more Ukrainian companies are abandoning hostile russian software and switching to Ukrainian products. Lviv-based entrepreneur Anna Polyuga, owner of My Malva and a Torgsoft customer, implemented an accounting program with Ukrainian roots in her business back in 2014.

In an interview with the Community Association Ukraine, Anna shared her experience of using the Torgsoft accounting program.

What does your company do?

"MoyaMalva is a company that sells professional care products both at retail and wholesale to beauty salons. So, I have both a trade and a service business. I needed the program in order to keep high-quality warehouse and accounting records for my online store and work with beauty salons."

How did you decide to abandon the russian software, and how long did it take to switch to an alternative version of the data accounting program?

In the spring of 2014, I just felt ashamed that I was using it at all. So the decision was quick, easy and instant. We switched to the Ukrainian accounting program Torgsoft. They were and are so comfortable, pleasant and contributed to the transition in every possible way that we completed this process in three days, and thanks to the support of Torgsoft.

I was inspired by an example shared by the company's specialists. A lady who had never used a computer and was selling newspapers switched to Torgsoft software in 40 minutes, having understood everything that was required of her. For my salespeople, the transition was quite simple. For the accountant, it was a bit unusual, and it took her a little longer to adapt, up to a week. 

Perhaps you had some barriers other than training an accountant that were related solely to the specifics of your company?

Before buying Torgsoft, I asked my friends who were already using this software. I thought, if this accounting program can handle production, then there will definitely be no problems with my trade and service sector. 

So, the main barrier was that a lot of money and time had been invested in adapting russian 1C to my company's business processes before switching to Ukrainian software. I had a strong feeling that the companies I worked with were simply cheating me in terms of program improvements. Because the time they spent on improvements could never be verified, and I was spending a lot of money. And then there was still a nuance when the modification worked on the one hand, but not on the other.

There were no such nuances with Torgsoft. Moreover, my salespeople were very happy with the program because it is intuitively simple. It is a pleasure to work with. The only person who was a little uncomfortable with it was an accountant, because the program is not made from an accounting logic. It's made from the logic of an entrepreneur who wants to see the current state of affairs, analyze the results of trade, and grant and restrict certain access to the program for employees. 

This program is designed so that the entrepreneur can adjust everything himself, and it's great! I would also like to emphasize that the developers of Torgsoft are very open to improvements. I have written to them many times: "Please pay attention to this, add such functions, it would be more convenient for me, and this should be closed from employees, and this should be opened." And they are very loyal to these wishes, always open to dialog. And within a month, a revision comes for which I don't pay anything extra, and it applies to everyone who already uses Torgsoft. This is very cool.

The company also responds very quickly to all kinds of changes. For example, recently, when the issue of maintaining software registrars of payment transactions arose, Torgsoft specialists helped us implement their software ECR, which is quite well-designed and pleasant. In addition, they have video instructions or text instructions for any option, which makes it very easy to implement a tool.

I have already transferred many of my friends from completely different businesses to this program, and I am happy to help them because I get great pleasure from using it.

How did your employees react to the transition from 1C to Torgsoft, and how did you communicate this with them?

So, I explained to them that the lady who sells newspapers, who had never used a computer, understood all the necessary options in 40 minutes, and you girls can do it. Because you've already worked with the software. It was really easy and quite fast. There were no barriers. This was also facilitated by the fact that we had maximum support from the Lviv office of Torgsoft.

And finally, what advice would you give to companies that still want to switch to a Ukrainian accounting program?

There is nothing to advise here, you have to move, period. There is simply no other solution. Yes, after 1C I had to buy the program and Torgsoft options again. But in total, I spent much less on Torgsoft, because the company is interested in incorporating all the improvements into the program, and the specialists do it as quickly as possible. In the end, I got a program that gives me more pleasure, costs less, and is more efficient, more flexible in the settings that I, an accountant or an administrator can make independently. This was absolutely impossible with 1C.
