Selling goods abroad is a great opportunity for Ukrainian businesses to expand their operations and find new customers. With the opening of Nova Poshta's international logistics centers, the question of how to transport goods to the EU profitably has been resolved for many entrepreneurs.
How to sell abroad through Nova Poshta and is it profitable for Ukrainian businesses?
What does Nova Poshta offer?
Before starting to export their own products to international markets, each entrepreneur studies the specifics of cooperation with the operator, the legislative aspects of the recipient country, and the requirements of the logistics service for transportation abroad.
Payment of export duty
When it comes to exporting goods to the EU, customs tariffs and procedures can vary significantly depending on the category of goods, their value, and the country of destination. Since 2016, the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement has been in force, which provides for the gradual reduction or complete elimination of customs tariffs on a wide range of goods.
However, in order for Ukrainian products to enjoy the benefits of this agreement, it is necessary to comply with the rules of origin and have the appropriate quality certificates.
Nova Poshta provides customs clearance services, which can simplify the export procedure for Ukrainian entrepreneurs who are not familiar with EU customs legislation.
According to the operator's website, all international shipments worth more than 45 euros are subject to duty. The exceptions are parcels of personal items and gifts, as well as agricultural and industrial products.
That is, for commercial parcels above EUR 45, the recipient must pay the duty. You can learn more about customs clearance on the Nova Poshta website.
You also need to determine whether your products are prohibited or dangerous for international transportation.
Cost of logistics services
Nova Poshta offers favorable rates for deliveries to its offices abroad, as well as an efficient logistics system. This makes it possible to deliver goods to the EU relatively quickly and without unnecessary delays, which means avoiding dissatisfaction of foreign customers and deterioration of service.
For example, a parcel of up to 2 kg to Poland will cost 300 UAH. If the goods are delivered to a country where the operator is not present, the cost can triple.
As for delivery times to European countries, they are slightly longer than in Ukraine and range from 3 to 7 days, depending on the location. However, there are situations when the goods reach the customer in less than 3 days.
Cargo insurance
Some categories of goods are worth insuring to avoid losing money in case of damage to the goods. The possibility of cargo insurance provides an additional guarantee of the safety of goods during transportation, although it requires additional costs from the sender.
Services for business
It is worth noting that the logistics company offers various package deals for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, including programs for online stores. In particular, this:
-
mite registration,
-
individual discounts,
-
marketing services,
-
packaging,
-
address delivery,
-
API integration with accounting systems for quick exchange of order data,
-
payment by a third party for marketplaces, etc.
Sellers' feedback on working with Nova Poshta
Most positive feedback comes from entrepreneurs about the speed of delivery of international parcels to consumers. Also, online store owners note Nova Poshta's adaptability to current market conditions, readiness to offer interesting ideas and suggestions for customers, and continuous development and scaling.
Among the negative factors, businessmen highlight high delivery rates to other countries where there are no operator branches.
