Features of management positions
27.02.2019 14:46Who today, having just started a new job and not knowing anyone, doesn't think about career growth and a good position as a leader of an organization? Of course, everyone dreams of being the head of a large enterprise or organization. This is a natural desire of every young professional and ordinary worker. But to become the head of even a small organization in terms of size and production, you need to weigh your shortcomings, opportunities and list all the pros and cons.
Yes, good managers are always honored and have many opportunities and advantages:
- high salary and good financial situation;
- respect from colleagues and subordinates;
- fulfillment of personal ambitions.

But there is also a downside to all the beauty of managing people - it's a lot of responsibility for the people you manage, as well as irregular work hours. After all, a manager must be responsible for the work of the entire enterprise at any given moment. There are no holidays or weekends for him or her, especially in the case of companies that operate around the clock.
Every manager must meet the requirements set for those wishing to obtain such a responsible position. There are many requirements, but we can focus on the most important ones:
- ability to communicate with people and find an approach to everyone;
- hard work and perseverance;
- ability to take responsibility for decisions;
- intelligence;
- commitment.
In addition, you need to hone your knowledge of economics and management on a daily basis, to be aware of all the events taking place within the organization you lead. A leader should be an example not only for his or her subordinates but also for others. Any organization by the nature of its activities constantly cooperates with other organizations not only in the domestic market but also on a global scale. The CEO is the company's business card, and the success of the organization's negotiations and cooperation largely depends on his or her business skills.
Who becomes a manager and how?
There is no definitive answer to this question, and there shouldn't be. It all depends on the candidate. It is not necessary to have a higher education, but sufficient work experience and communication with people are welcome in the first place. You also need to have great willpower and determination. This is not taught at school or at the institute. Everything comes with practice and more practice.
When a manager is appointed from the outside, it will be very difficult for him or her to understand the entire complex process of the organization for a long time. The adaptation period often takes years. All of this negatively affects the production process and relationships between employees. However, a big advantage is that such a leader, if positioned correctly, will initially have authority among subordinates. The second option is to climb the career ladder from an ordinary employee to a manager at the same company.

Such a leader knows the production in general and the specifics of the work thoroughly, and will find a way out of any situation, even in the most difficult times. However, subordinates are unlikely to feel under reliable protection and confident in the future, because just a couple of weeks ago this manager was an ordinary employee like them. It is difficult for such a person to achieve unconditional obedience or at least respect.
To become a truly worthy leader, it is important to remember that it is not only about big money and public recognition, but also about a thorny path, hard work and enormous responsibility for others. This is the nature of the economy and market relations.
