Products for tourism and leisure 2026: how to increase sales in the summer

According to a July survey by Work.ua, 72% of Ukrainians are spending their summer holidays at home this year. 9% go to their summer cottages, 7% go on a tourist trip abroad, 6% go to resorts in Ukraine, and the remaining 6% go to visit relatives abroad or to a campsite near their homes.
These statistics do not mean that the majority of Ukrainians are locking themselves away at home and waiting for victory. Life goes on, and as evidenced by the queues in the shops, people continue to buy necessary and desirable things for the holidays, although not as actively as before the war.
If you don't yet know how to revive your sales in the summer because you have out-of-season products, or if you want to replenish your existing assortment with summer novelties and popular leisure products, our tips will be useful.
9 categories of summer products to boost sales
Usually, in the warm season, people are more inclined to make emotional purchases, especially if they are holiday products. So, this period can be safely used to expand and update the range of your store. Or to start your own business.
Most often in summer, people are looking for products for outdoor activities, beach holidays, picnics, tourism and travel. In addition, there is a constant demand for essential goods for the military: tactical equipment and clothing, equipment, food, and personal items for the frontline.
You can choose the destination that appeals to you the most. In this article, let's have a closer look at the categories of leisure goods that are currently popular among Ukrainians.
1. Folding furniture
Tourist tables, folding chairs and armchairs, folding beds, hammocks... - the benefit of these products is that they can be used not only in summer holidays, but also at home in the countryside, in the countryside at different times of the year. Traditionally, however, the demand for such products increases in summer. And it is not surprising, because we want to make outdoor recreation as comfortable as possible.
2. Hanging garden hammock
This thing is a must-have in the country, in private houses and cottages in the suburban area. And judging by the number of queries on Google, it deserves a separate item on our list. It is best when the hammock is made of thick fabric, cotton, so it will last longer.
3. Tourist crockery
Buyers choose their tableware depending on the purpose and type of trip: for a picnic, you can get by with a regular barbecue, a set of disposable tableware or durable plastic utensils.
For prepared tourists, you need professional heat-resistant cookware that is sold in sets (so-called tourist survival kits). Perhaps even a gas burner for camping or burners if they are travelling by car.
Thermoses, thermal mugs, skewers, grill grates, etc. are also essential. If holidaymakers are travelling on their own, they will be primarily concerned about the ergonomics and lightness of kitchen items.
4. Products for water recreation
Tourists can upgrade their beach holiday products every season. Especially do not spare money on things for children.
Provide your store with inflatable circles and vests of different sizes and colours, beach umbrellas and interesting accessories, beachwear, fashionable hats, towels, etc. Create sets: for example, a bag for the beach or a change of shoes and a beach towel/shoes.
Many holidaymakers are attracted to loungers - portable inflatable sunbeds that are lightweight and don't take up much space in a bag or backpack because they fold down to the size of a wallet. Classic loungers can also be used as a mattress for swimming.
5. Products for hiking and camping
For long-distance travel, you will need items of a tourist profile: a tent, sleeping bags (if necessary), hiking backpacks, headlamps, hygiene and insect repellent.
If there are women with children among the active tourists, it is advisable to purchase camping furniture to improve their stay in the lap of nature. Also, in outdoor conditions, seat mats, trekking poles, camping lamps, compasses, and multitools will not be superfluous.

Thermal products are useful for all types of travel over different distances, especially when travelling by car. Usually, holidaymakers who travel somewhere by their own transport take more food because they have a place to put it. That's why there is a need for a method of reliable storage.
The choice of products in this area is quite large, you can add to your assortment backpacks, bags, suitcases, refrigerators, cold accumulators that perform the function of instant freezing, which are always well sold out during the holiday season. In addition, many Ukrainians are now forced to move around in search of better and safer living conditions, so these products are also relevant to them.
Thermoses, thermal cups, thermal boxes, thermal cases, and lunch boxes are in stable demand throughout the year. They have a dual purpose: both heating and cooling, depending on the needs of the owner.
7. Products for fishing
In the summer, fishing is a very popular leisure and hobby. It is one of the favourite old-time activities of Ukrainians. Therefore, the niche of goods for fishermen is relevant at all times, and even more so in the summer.
If you are already selling these products, consider expanding. Spinning rods, wobblers, fishing rods, fish bait, floats, landing nets, bite indicators, fishing tools and accessories are not a complete list of fishing products that are in demand by fishermen.
You can also dilute the existing range with souvenirs for hunters and fishermen. In general, there are plenty of ideas, just take them and implement them.
8. Waterproof products
Waterproof bags are great for protecting things and equipment from water, rain, sand, and even snow. They are chosen by both ordinary tourists to protect their valuables and water sports athletes. Choose to sell nylon compression bags with a polyvinyl chloride coating; they are more reliable but more expensive than Chinese models.
For several years now, waterproof smartphone cases have been in stable demand among holidaymakers. This is an indispensable item on the beach and during water adventures: diving, boating, sailing, kayaking, scootering, or rafting. They will keep your belongings dry and intact, unless they fall into the water with you.
9. Long-term travel food
You can sell food products for tourists and travellers, or, what is most relevant nowadays, you can produce or sell long-life food for the military. This category of goods is universal for everyone, so it can be included in the main product niche, in the assortment of a tourist shop, or as an additional product for the military.
