How to sell on Rozetka?

Rozetka is the largest online marketplace in Ukraine, offering a huge selection of goods in various categories. In terms of sales and traffic, Rozetka is the leader of the Ukrainian e-commerce market.

How do you start a business on Rozetka?

First of all, to start trading on this platform, you need to ensure that you have a product that meets the requirements of the Rozetka marketplace. 

The process of establishing a relationship with a marketplace is quite simple and consists of several steps.

1. Seller registration

Cooperation with Rozetka begins with submitting an application, in which you provide information about your company and the quantity of goods you intend to sell. If you plan to work as a supplier, you should include additional data:

  • quarterly turnover for the previous periods for all types of sales,

  • projected turnover, taking into account seasonality,

  • data on competitors and their market share,

  • brand characteristics: advantages and disadvantages, etc.

2. Preparation of a price catalog of goods

The next step is to create a database of products for further placement on Rozetka. There are only 15 categories on rozetka.com.ua, which are divided into dozens of parent subcategories. The seller needs to provide a price list of goods in XML (YML) format and specify the desired category.

  • Note that the marketplace does not allow selling all types of goods.You can find the full list of prohibited categories and brands here. To sell certain goods on Rozetka, you need to provide documents. 

When creating a price list, it is important to take into account the requirements of Rozetka for the design of product data. The seller's product catalog must contain their price, stock availability and quantity, name, detailed description, photo, specifications, unique identifier, category, etc.

If you keep automated records of goods, you do not need to create a price list for Rozetka separately. You can export it from your CRM system — product information is automatically synchronized and updated on Rozetka.

Sole proprietors need only provide a certificate of opening a bank account. To conclude an agreement with a marketplace, a legal entity will need to prepare a longer list of documents: in addition to the certificate of opening a current account, minutes of the general meeting or a participant's decision and an order appointing a director.

After the platform checks the documents and applications, the seller must sign the contract through the Vchasno electronic system. It may take up to 14 calendar days to prepare the contract. After signing, the agreement will appear in the seller's account in the "Document Management" section.

4. Payment for services and start of sales

To accept the first orders on the marketplace, you need to pay for placement services, commissions, subscription fees, and possibly the promotion of your trading account on the platform. For example, a monthly rental of space on Rozetka costs UAH 120. You also need to pay a commission for each order placed. The amount of commission can range from 5 to 20% of the purchase amount, depending on the category of goods. 

After paying for the services, your page will be activated and the products will become available for sale.

Additional requirements of Rozetka to sellers

Merchants, i.e. sellers who want to open a store on the Rozetka website, should take into account other requirements of the service, such as:

  1. Work in accordance with the standards of work on the marketplace. The basic rules include: correct filling of information about products:

  • current prices, data on delivery and its timing,
  • speed of order fulfillment,
  • timely and high-quality communication with customers.

2. If the seller already has a website, you need to create a different name for the online store and add a new logo on the Marketplace.

3. It is forbidden to work according to the dropshipping model. You have to send goods from your own or rented warehouse directly to customers.

Content and price list requirements

  • Product photos. High-quality images from several angles that show all the features of the product.

  • Product description. A complete and accurate description that includes all the characteristics, benefits, and possible scenarios for using the product.

  • Price list. Current prices for goods that should be competitive.

"In the span of just one year, our online store specializing in selling exotic food and delicacies was able to increase its revenue on the Rozetka marketplace to 70% of its total revenue. Initially, we had only 15% of our catalog on Rozetka, compared to 85% on other platforms such as Prom.ua. But despite this, Rozetka quickly became the main source of income.

"Since July 2022, our store has managed to fulfill more than 800 orders, placing 70 unique products in the marketplace assortment, of which about 40 are consistently available. I believe that an increase in the number of product items could contribute to the growth of sales.

There were situations when customers either did not pick up the order or the product did not suit them, but in such situations, Rozetka always refunded the commission, which is a significant plus.
