Complete set

The «Assembly» functionality in Torgsoft is a powerful tool that allows you both to create new product items from several components (for example, gift sets, furniture assembly) and to split wholesale packages for retail sale (for example, selling building materials individually from a pack). There is also a separate «Production» module for more complex processes.

Below is a detailed description of these processes based on the documentation.

1. Creating product sets for sale (Assembly)

This mode is used when you want to combine several different products into a new set (for example, a «Barbecue Set»: skewers + charcoal + fire starter).

Set creation algorithm

Set creation algorithm:

  1. Go to the Document — Assembly — Set Description tab menu.

  2. Click the Create Set button. Next, in the "Assembly and Production" form, click the "New" button to create a new product card for the set product (the set itself). Enter the name (for example, «Gift Set»), the sale price, and save it.

  3. In the "Assembly and Production" form, select the name of the set product and click the "Select for Composition" button if the component product has already been added to the program, or click the "Add for Composition" button to create a new product card for a product that will be included in the set. Specify the quantity of this product and save the changes.

Stock creation (How to «assemble» a set). The set description itself does not yet create the product in stock. For the set to appear in stock, it must be physically «assembled» in the program:

  • Select the created set in the list and click Edit Assembly, then click the "Assemble" or "Product Manufacturing" button.

  • Specify the number of sets you want to create. The program will check the availability of components, write them off from stock, and receipt the finished sets.

Please note:

  • "Assemble" - clicking this button will create a receipt invoice without purchase prices and cost price. The purchase prices and cost price will be filled in for the set after recalculating the product cost price in the program (method: by product supply batches).
  • "Product Manufacturing" - clicking this button will create a receipt invoice with purchase prices and cost price. It is also possible to specify the actual consumption of materials (set components).

Automatic assembly

Automatic assembly during sale. If you do not want to assemble sets in advance, you can configure them to be created at the moment of sale.

  • In the set product card (Assembly tab), enable the checkbox «Assemble the set before sale if there is not enough stock available».

  • During the sale, if there are no finished sets, the program will automatically write off the components and receipt the set «on the fly» (provided that there are enough set components available).

2. Disassembly of a product for individual sale

This method is used when you buy a product in packs (for example, a pack of 100 paper clips), but want to sell it individually.

Setup through the product card:

  1. Find the packaging product (for example, «Paper Clips Pack») in the Merchandising — Full List of Products and Services menu and click Edit.

  2. Click the Composition button, and then Add to Composition.

  3. In the window that opens, create or select the unit product (for example, «Paper Clip 1 pc»).

  4. Specify the number of units in the pack (for example, 100) and the retail price for one piece.

How to sell part of it. When adding the packaging product to a sale, the program allows you to sell it in parts.

  • Manual disassembly. In the Document — Assembly menu, or in the Composition — Composition Status form, you can click the Disassemble button, select the pack product, and specify the quantity to split. The program will write off the pack and receipt 100 paper clips into stock.

  • Automatic during sale. If the checkbox «Show the disassembly form when selling the product» is enabled in the set product settings, then when scanning the pack at the checkout, a window will appear where the cashier can choose: sell the whole pack or disassemble it for further sale of the set component (paper clips individually).

Show disassembly form

Disassembly during receipt (at the arrival stage). You can configure the program so that packs are automatically split into individual units at the moment the goods are received from the supplier. In the product card, on the Assembly tab, there are options:

  • Into the current document. Instead of the pack, for example, 100 pieces are immediately entered into the receipt invoice. In fact, the pack is not recorded in stock at all.

  • By separate documents. The program creates a receipt for the pack, then automatically creates a write-off act for this pack and a receipt act for 100 pieces.

3. Assembly for production

Torgsoft has two approaches to production: simplified (through standard Assembly) and extended (through the paid «Production» option).

Assembly for production

Option A. Simplified (Basic version). The «Assemble»/«Product Manufacturing» mechanism is used (described in item 1).

Full Production (Additional option)

Option B. Full Production (Additional option). For advanced accounting, the «Production: Accounting of Materials and Finished Products» option is used. It allows you to:

  • Create Process Sheets (product recipes).

  • Create Production Acts and Route Sheets.

  • Account not only for materials, but also for Technological Operations (labor) and calculate piece-rate wages for employees for completed operations.

  • Account for semi-finished products and waste.

Summary

  • If you simply sell product sets — use standard Assembly.

  • If you sell a product individually from a package — configure Composition in the product card (disassembly).

  • If you manufacture products taking wages and complex costs into account — you need the Production option.
