Error diagnostics

Purpose of the "Error diagnostics" mode in the Torgsoft program

The Error Diagnostics mode is designed to detect and correct errors in the accounting of goods, namely

• Detection of duplicate barcodes when transferring goods between accounting objects.
• Elimination of errors in the names of goods, combining identical goods with different names.
• Change barcodes for goods that were assigned the same barcodes mistakenly.
• Analyze and adjust the accounting of goods in the warehouse.
• Update information about goods, including names, barcodes, classification by type, manufacturer, season.
• Removal of irrelevant or unused goods from the system.

Product name tab: you can see how product names have changed. This helps you monitor when and which products have changed their names. Also, here you can change the settings responsible for fixing product names. This is useful for controlling how products are named in the system.

The Warehouse errors tab in Torgsoft shows products with the same barcodes but different names and where they are located in the warehouse. This helps to understand where and what errors occurred.

The Product errors tab also identifies products with the same barcodes and different names, but focuses on correcting these errors in the product catalog instead of showing their location in the warehouse.

The Product tab displays a complete list of products in the system and allows you to manage product information: merge products, change their barcodes or assign a new one, update product names, edit custom barcodes, and add a checksum to them.

Error correction tab: you can undo the changes that were made to the barcodes of the products. If you made a mistake by changing the barcode, you can fix it here. It is also possible to delete products that have not been sold for a long time and those types of products that are no longer in use.

Reference designations tab: you can set or change information about products, such as product type, manufacturer, seasonality. This is especially useful when you import data from another system and want it to meet your needs. Here you can quickly filter products and update their characteristics.

The Delete products tab is used to delete products that have not had any movement for a certain period, as well as products with zero quantity. This allows you to keep the database up-to-date by eliminating outdated or unnecessary records. The delete function moves the product to the No information category, and if you delete all products of a certain type, the product type itself is deleted.

The "Advanced" tab in Torgsoft allows you to download or save a reference of the Product Types Reference. This is useful for correcting errors in the tree of product types by comparing the current tree with the reference one.

The "Opening balances" tab in Torgsoft allows you to manage the goods that were posted as opening balances. You can set from which supplier the goods that were entered as your first inventory came. The action "Automatically allocate goods to a vendor" automatically assigns goods to the vendor from which they were last posted. The "Allocate goods to a supplier" action allows you to manually select a new supplier for goods that were posted as opening balances. This allows you to know exactly who supplied these goods and helps to keep correct records.

The "Models without items" tab in Torgsoft allows you to find product models that do not have product items, as the mode name suggests.

• Warehouse managers and commodity experts who are responsible for the accuracy of goods accounting. For example, if an inventory reveals that several different barcodes have been assigned to the same item, the manager can find such items and combine them.
