The «Full list of goods and services» mode in Torgsoft is the central directory of your entire business nomenclature. Unlike the «Stock status» mode, which shows only what is currently available, the «Full list» contains absolutely all product and service cards that have ever been created in the system, regardless of their current stock balance.

This is the main tool for an inventory specialist to prepare the database, bring order to names, and manage the assortment. Below is a detailed overview of this mode’s capabilities and instructions for controlling the nomenclature.

1. Purpose and key features

This mode (menu Merchandising — Full list of goods and services) is most often used to pre-enter nomenclature into the database before the product physically arrives at the warehouse and is received into stock.

Key functions of the mode:

  • Creating product cards: adding names, SKUs, barcodes, photos, and descriptions.

  • Service accounting: creating cards for intangible items (delivery, repair, packaging) that have no quantity on hand and no cost price.

  • Editing: bulk or individual changes to product attributes.

  • Database cleanup: deleting incorrect entries or decommissioning obsolete products.

2. Creating and configuring a product

Adding a product through this mode allows you to create a reference card that you can then quickly use when receiving goods.

  • Product card. When you click Add, a card opens where you link the product to the type tree (for example, Clothing -> Men’s -> Jeans).

  • Name automation. To avoid chaos in names (for example, "Blue jeans" vs "Jeans blue"), Torgsoft uses a name-generation rule. The name is generated automatically based on attributes: Product type + Brand + Collection + Size, etc. This is configured in the Settings - Parameters - Product menu.

  • Barcodes. You can enter the manufacturer’s barcode or generate your own internal barcode. One product can be assigned multiple barcodes (for example, if the manufacturer changed the packaging but the product is the same, or for different colors of the same model if you don’t track inventory by color).

  • Photo. On the «Photo» tab, you can add a product image that will be displayed to the cashier during a sale or in the online store.

3. Working with services

A service in Torgsoft is a specific type of nomenclature item.

  • Difference from a product. A service has no warehouse quantity and no purchase price. It is used to record service operations (for example, «Hemming trousers», «Software installation», «Delivery»).

  • Service composition. You can create a bundled service. For example, in the «Gift wrapping» service, you can include materials (paper, ribbon) that will be written off from the warehouse when this service is sold.

  • How to create. Go to the Services tab in the «Full list» window and click Add. Fill in the name and price and, if needed, link it to a product type for analytics.

4. How to keep nomenclature under control

Over time, the product database can become cluttered with duplicates or obsolete items. This mode provides tools for "database hygiene".

A. Deletion and deactivation (Decommissioning)

  • Full deletion. Possible only for products that have never had any movements (receipts, sales). This is relevant for mistakenly created cards.

  • Decommissioning. If a product was sold earlier but you no longer plan to work with it, you cannot delete it (this would break the accounting history), but you can «Decommission» it.

    • Such a product disappears from active selection lists (for example, for the cashier) but remains in reports.

    • It is moved to the «Deleted product» list (menu Merchandising — Deleted product), from where it can be restored if needed.

B. Bulk operations and filtering

For working with large data sets, use automation tools:

  • Filters. You can filter products by Type, Manufacturer, Season, or find a product by barcode/SKU via the search bar.

  • Name lock. You can prevent the name from being changed for specific products by enabling the «Fixed product name» option. This protects the nomenclature from accidental renaming during invoice imports.

  • Duplicate check. If, when scanning a barcode, the product already exists in the database, the program will open its card rather than create a new one, which prevents duplication.

C. Export and Import

  • You can export the entire directory or a part of it to Excel for analysis or transfer to another warehouse.

  • Importing nomenclature from files of external systems is also supported, which allows you to quickly populate the database when starting out.

5. Useful tips for control

  1. SKU uniqueness. In the parameter settings, you can enable SKU uniqueness checking so the system warns or prohibits creating cards with duplicate SKUs.

  2. Asterisk (*) in the name. If you see an «asterisk» next to a product name in stock status, it often indicates duplicated nomenclature or specific model import behavior. Use the «Full list» to find and merge such items.

  3. Search without stock. This is the only place where you can find a product that currently has no stock balance to review its history, price, or print a price tag for a display sample that has not yet been received into stock.

This mode is the foundation of your accounting. A clean and structured «Full list of products» ensures accurate reports and fast cashier operations.
