Quality certificates
29.12.2023 16:50Why do you need to keep track of quality certificates?
This mode in the Torgsoft program allows you to view information about the availability of certificates for goods, their validity periods, as well as identify goods that need to be updated or obtain new certificates.
Certificates are divided into several categories according to their status: valid, expired, or missing. In Torgsoft, you can add or change information about certificates: specify the certificate number and expiration date. Products can be filtered by the period and status of the certificate, and you can quickly find the right product.
This mode will be useful for purchasing managers, quality control managers, merchandisers, and store or retail chain owners. It allows you to control the compliance of goods with quality standards, as well as to respond in time to the expiration of certificates to avoid problems with the sale of uncertified goods and ensure compliance with quality standards.
How do I add a quality certificate for a product in Torgsoft?
You can add a certificate and its validity period in the product card at the time of posting the goods or in the Warehouse - Warehouse status menu.
It is convenient to control the certificates in the menu Commodity - Quality certificate.
Why do you need a certificate of origin?
Confirmation of the country of origin. A certificate of origin (COO) is an official document that indicates where the goods were manufactured. It is usually required when importing goods into a country.
Control of restrictions. A certificate of origin allows you to determine whether a product is subject to certain economic, political, or environmental restrictions, such as import quotas, sanctions, boycotts, or anti-dumping measures. For some products, such as those derived from plants or animals, a certificate can be particularly important because they often require additional controls.
Preferential and non-preferential certificates. There are two types of certificates of origin - preferential and non-preferential. A preferential certificate is issued for goods that come from countries with which a trade agreement has been concluded and can provide reduced import duties, while a non-preferential certificate is used only to confirm the origin of the goods.
The need for registration. Certificates of origin are issued by the local chamber of commerce, and clearance is usually required for each shipment of goods. Sometimes, the issuance of a COO can be delegated to a freight forwarder, customs broker or company representative.
Do manufacturers, representatives, or sellers need a certificate of quality?
A quality certificate is an important document for all retailers:
- For manufacturers, quality certification is important because it confirms that their products comply with established standards and regulations. This not only increases consumer confidence in the products, but may also be a requirement for entering certain markets or cooperating with large retail chains. The quality certificate demonstrates that the manufacturer adheres to high standards in the production of its products.
- Representatives who sell or distribute products can use a quality certificate as a tool to confirm the quality and reliability of the products they represent. This can help build trust with potential customers and partners.
- Sellers can use a quality certificate as proof of the quality and safety of the products they offer to their customers. This is especially important in market segments where consumers are particularly attentive to product quality and safety (e.g., food, medical devices).
Quality certification is often based on internationally recognized standards, such as ISO 9001 for quality management systems or ISO 22000 for food safety management systems. These standards help manufacturers maintain consistent product quality and improve their production processes.
Which products require a quality certificate?
A quality certificate is required for most electronic goods, especially those that contain components that can cause radio interference (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, GSM). There is no exact list of products, but it is important to adhere to the technical specifications of a particular product.
How and why are goods certified?
Products are certified to ensure that they meet certain quality and safety standards. This is important for consumer protection and product quality assurance. The quality certificate demonstrates that the product meets the established norms and standards.
Why do retailers and vendors need a quality certificate for goods?
Retailers and vendors need a quality certificate to increase consumer confidence, ensure that their products meet safety and quality standards, and enhance brand reputation. Certified products usually have better competitiveness in the market.
