Packing of bulk goods and labeling with a barcode

Packing weighted goods in Torgsoft

Packing weighted goods — faster, more accurate, without errors

Do cashiers make mistakes when choosing goods, entering the wrong weight or price when weighing goods manually?
Do weighted goods not get recorded, causing unknown balances and mix-ups?
Without barcodes, you don't see how much weighted goods are really in stock?

When weighted goods are weighed manually, the business loses control. The result is financial losses, confusion in accounting, and constant checks.

Torgsoft automates packing: after weighing, the item is marked with a barcode containing the exact weight and price. The cashier just scans the label — and the data instantly enters the accounting software.

Thanks to the additional option “Packing weighted goods and labeling with barcode”, the business owner sees the real quantity of goods in the warehouse and in the store. Automatic scanning reduces errors and speeds up service.

Who is the “Packing weighted goods” option for?

The option will be useful if you:
Sell weighted goods (grocery stores, bakeries, meat and cheese shops, eco-shops).
Have a high flow of customers and want to eliminate queues at the checkout.
Strive for accurate accounting of weighted balances — to avoid write-offs and discrepancies.
Want to reduce dependence on the human factor.

All information about weighted goods is under control — you are confident in data, calculations, and profit.

How are weighted goods sold in Torgsoft?

Torgsoft transmits the product name, weight, and price to the scales. The seller does not need to enter them manually. The sale is carried out according to the following scheme:

Step 1
Weighing goods
Goods are weighed on label printing scales by the seller or the customer
Step 2
Printing label
The scales print a label with a barcode, weight, name, and price by mass
Step 3
Scanning at checkout
The cashier scans the barcode — product data is automatically transferred to Torgsoft
Step 4
Sale and accounting
The product is displayed in the receipt and correctly written off from the inventory

For example, in an eco-products store, nuts and spices are packed daily. The customer hands the marked product to the cashier → the cashier scans the label → the program adds the product to the receipt, updates balances, and prints the receipt. This helped reduce queues by 30% and establish accurate accounting. The owner sees the movement of goods and profit in real time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the option “Packing weighted goods and labeling with barcode”?

This is an additional Torgsoft function that allows you to create a list of weighted goods for loading into scales, print labels with barcode, weight, and price, and automatically recognize this data during sales.

What data can be transmitted to label printing scales?

Product name, PLU number, expiration date, sell-by date, tare weight, group code, product composition, information messages, and price can be transmitted to the scales — depending on the model. For example, when selecting the "Tare weight" parameter, during weighing, the tare weight will be automatically deducted from the product weight. Product group code — the code of the group to which the product belongs. Product composition — 4 fields containing information about the product composition, KBZHV — ratio of calories, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, etc. Product price is also transmitted to the label printing scales. For universal scales, Torgsoft can export another 20 characteristics with extensions for more precise configuration.

How is the sale of packed goods carried out at the checkout?

After weighing the product on the label printing scales, a label with a barcode is printed. The cashier scans the barcode, and the Torgsoft program automatically receives the weight, price, and amount without manual entry.

Which label printing scales does Torgsoft support?

Torgsoft supports working with various models of label printing scales, including Massa-K, CAS, DIGI, Shtrih-Print, Mettler Toledo, and others, provided they are configured in the program. More scales — in the Torgsoft online store.

What needs to be configured for correct barcode recognition?

In the scale parameters in Torgsoft, it is necessary to specify the barcode flag with the quantity of goods and the number of characters to indicate the quantity in the barcode so that the program can correctly read the mass of the goods encoded in the barcode.

How to activate the option for free for 30 days?

In the Torgsoft program, go to the menu item Settings → List of additional options → Packing weighted goods. Click “Activate for 30 days”. After activation, the date until which the option will work will be indicated in the corresponding column. After testing, all settings are saved.
