This feature will be an indispensable assistant for entrepreneurs who sell goods measured in square/linear meters (tiles, baseboards, linoleum, laminate, parquet, carpets) but are shipped in pieces.
Where can we encounter metric characteristics of goods?
- During goods receipt (fig. 1,2);
- During goods sale;
- During goods distribution across retail points (fig. 4,5)
During goods receipt
Activate the additional feature - "Metric characteristics of goods".
Receive goods via the menu Document - Goods Receipt (before adding a new product, create a product type, for example: "Tiles", in the Unit field enter the unit of measurement, for example "sq.m", and in the Dimensionality field select Metric).

The operations are the same as with regular goods receipt, just with an additional feature visible in the additional block.

Add product type, country, material, and other details.
After adding all necessary information, go to the Metrics tab and select Dimensionality (One-dimensional - baseboards, beams, windowsills, linoleum, carpets; Two-dimensional - tiles, parquet, paneling, foam, wall and roof insulation materials; or Three-dimensional).
Since we have tiles sold by area, we are interested in length and width - select Two-dimensional. Two fields will appear where you need to enter the tile size (length and width).
If the product type is set in square meters (sq.m), the sizes should also be entered in meters.
Next, in the Quantity per Package field, enter (if necessary) how many tiles are in one package. Click the Save button.
IMPORTANT! Metric goods are sold and moved in the units specified in the product type.
During goods sale
To see how this feature works, go to Settings - Parameters - Document and check the box Show metric goods calculator during sale.
Now during the sale of goods, a Dimensional Calculator will appear, allowing you to select how many tiles to sell or how many square meters are needed.
The program will automatically calculate the number of tiles and the actual sq.m received. The seller will not need to use a calculator, which speeds up the sales process, saving the customer’s time.
The calculator will automatically calculate how many pieces of tiles are needed for the desired area, and if this number is not an integer, it will round it and recalculate the actual area.

During goods distribution across retail points
- During internal transfer
Go to the menu Document - Internal Transfer, create a new transfer, add goods.
Now you can see the Quantity per Package column.

- During goods distribution from the receipt document
Go to the menu Document - Goods Receipt and either create a new receipt or select from already received goods.
Next, click the Distribute goods to retail points button, where you will see the Quantity per Package field.

If the Quantity per Package is not displayed, go to the Display Options menu and check the Quantity per Package box.

Why is it important to know the quantity per package?
It is common to face issues when distributing goods across retail points, where goods are transferred in packages, but the program requires specifying the quantity in units, not packages.
When entering the quantity in units, the person transferring the goods may make a mistake and enter a quantity not proportional to the quantity per package. In such cases, the actual transferred quantity will not match the recorded quantity, causing shortages or overages at the retail points.
To avoid such cases, if the quantity distributed is not proportional to the quantity per package, the program will notify about it.
Summary: this feature allows calculating the exact amount of goods to sell to the customer depending on the product dimensions and the customer's needs.
It also allows seeing how many pieces will be sold for a specified quantity in measurement units (e.g., square meters) and printing this information for the warehouse staff during shipment.
