Every year, more and more entrepreneurs attach special importance to the marketing support of their store. Its usefulness and necessity for modern business are difficult to overestimate.
The Torgsoft retail software offers quite broad capabilities for maintaining the loyalty of existing customers and attracting new ones. Among the program’s other marketing features is the Refer a Friend additional option.
It allows an entrepreneur to build a so-called "two-level bonus system" for attracting new customers. Its essence is that it is beneficial for the holder of a discount card to recommend your store to friends, because a bonus is automatically credited to them for their friends’ purchases. At the same time, the bonus amount may be fixed or depend on the friend’s purchase amount. And the customer’s friend is given a discount.
To implement such a loyalty system in their store, the user of the business software needs to activate the Refer a Friend additional option.
After activation, in the customer card (main menu item Marketing -> Customers), on the Refer a Friend tab, click the Add button.

In the window, specify the Date of creating a new card issue for the customer’s friends.
In the Validity period field, in days, specify the validity period of the promotion for the customer and their friends (for an unlimited promotion period, enter 0).
Specify the desired discount percentage for the customer’s friend in the Discount for a friend, % field.
Select from the list the Accrual conditions for the main card:
1) Fixed bonus amount.
A fixed amount of bonuses is credited to the customer with a discount card for a friend’s purchase. In the Credit bonuses to the main card field, enter the amount of bonuses credited to the customer for a friend’s purchase.
2) Percentage of the friend’s purchase amount.
Bonuses are credited to the customer as a percentage of the friend’s purchase amount. After selecting this condition, the Credit percentage to the main card field appears for specifying the percentage.

Bonuses are credited to the customer as a percentage of the friend’s purchase amount. But the number of bonuses credited is limited. After selecting this condition, two fields appear:
- Credit percentage to the main card to specify the accrual percentage
- Maximum bonus accrual amount to the main card to specify the maximum amount of credited bonuses

Next, specify the Minimum purchase amount of the friend for bonus accrual. Set the value to 0 to credit the customer with bonuses for a friend’s purchase of any amount.
In the Product group field, select from the list or directory the product group to which the Refer a Friend promotion will apply. Leave the field blank for the promotion to apply to all products.
In the Number of cards field, you need to specify the number of issued cards with a discount for the customer’s friends. For example, the customer will be issued 3 cards with a discount for their friends. Click the Save button. The program will create individual discount promo codes for each friend’s card.

The promo codes must be printed using the Print promo codes button. Stick the printed promo codes onto the cards and give them to the customer so that they can distribute them to their friends. You can Copy promo codes to the clipboard and paste them (Ctrl+V) into any document (for example, an email).
When the customer’s friend makes the first purchase, the card promo code must be scanned. In the Sales window, the promo code is scanned into the barcode and item code input field (Barcode/Item).

In the window, confirm the use of the promo code for the current sale, and the customer’s friend will receive a discount on this sale.

Enter the payment, and the program will automatically credit the bonus to the customer from the friend’s purchase.
In the Trade with invoice issuance window, when issuing an invoice (the Invoice tab) or a delivery note (the Delivery note tab) for the customer’s friend, click the Scan control barcode button. In the window, scan the card promo code and confirm its use. After that, the program will give the customer’s friend a discount on this invoice (or delivery note).

Enter payment for the invoice (or delivery note), and the program will automatically credit the customer with a bonus from the friend’s purchase.
All promo codes for the Refer a Friend promotion provide a one-time discount. Paid promo codes will be marked in the customer card.

To view bonus accruals under the Refer a Friend promotion, select the main menu item Analysis -> Bonus movement analysis - the Refer a Friend tab.
