Setting up marketing promotions in Torgsoft to automatically apply discounts (e.g., "3+1", "Happy Hours", discount based on receipt total).
Why it is needed
You need to launch a loyalty program, sale, or special offer that automatically changes the product price when certain conditions are met at the checkout.
Signs
A promotion needs to be set up in the store.
The Promotions item is missing from the Marketing menu.
Discounts do not trigger automatically during sales.
The cashier calculates promotional offers manually.
Causes
The "Advanced" discount calculation mode is not enabled in the software settings.
The promotion is not configured, not saved, or not activated (the program/sales mode was not restarted).
Action Algorithm
1. Enabling Promotion Mode

Go to the Settings — Parameters menu.

Switch to the Discounts tab.

In the "Sales condition calculation" field, select Advanced.

Click Save.

Restart the program. Result: The Promotions item will appear in the Marketing menu.
2. Creating a Promotion Card

Go to the Marketing — Promotions menu.

Click Add (green plus sign).

Fill in the fields:
Name: Specify the promotion name for internal records.
Discount type: Select "% discount" or "Discount amount" and specify the value.
Accumulation: Enable if the purchase amount should be added to the customer's card balance.
Trade points: Select "All" or specific stores.
Product group: Select products eligible for the discount (you can create a group of products/manufacturers via the "Directory" button).
Trade type: Specify "Retail" (or other appropriate type).
3. Configuring Conditions (Tabs)
Set restrictions in the relevant tabs:
Period: Specify start/end dates, days of the week, or valid hours.
Quantity: For promotions like "3rd item for free". Specify "Quantity of distinct receipt items" (e.g., 2, so the discount applies to the 3rd) or total product quantity.
Amount: Specify the receipt total threshold to activate the discount.
Per item: (requires toggle). For discounts on the cheapest item or cascade discounts (1st — 0%, 2nd — 10%).
Add to discount: Select the interaction mode with the loyalty card (summing up or discount on discount).
Control barcodes: If the promotion is activated by scanning a coupon/flyer.
Customers: To limit the action to specific customer groups.
4. Activation

Go to the Result tab and check the condition description.

Click the View items under promotion button to verify the product filter.

Click Save.

Restart the program or click New Sales in the sales window.
How to Verify the Result

Open the Sales mode.

Add promotional items to the receipt according to the conditions (e.g., 3 units).

Ensure that the price changes or the discount appears automatically.
Prevention
Always check the promotion end date.
Use unique names for promotions to avoid confusing them in reports.
