Choose the right foundation for your business

This guide will help you, as a new user, understand how the Torgsoft software can be configured. You will be able to choose the best option for your business and confidently prepare for further work.

Choosing the right architecture at the start is a key step for stable, efficient, and scalable system operation in the future.

Three architectures for using Torgsoft

Torgsoft can be used in three architectures, each of which matches specific business needs and scale. The choice depends on the number of workstations, their location, and your growth plans.

The software and database are installed on one computer. All work is done on this device.

Ideal for one store with one checkout (licenses “Torgsoft-Start”, “Torgsoft-Ultra”, “Torgsoft-Online”).

One computer with Windows OS

Local network

One computer is used as a server with the database. Other workstations connect to it within the local network.

For stores with multiple workstations connected in one local network (located in one place) (licenses “Torgsoft-Start”, “Torgsoft-Ultra”, “Torgsoft-Online”).

Local network; one PC as a server

Terminal server

The software and database are hosted on a remote server. Users work over the Internet.

For retail chains with stores in different locations, cities, or countries, as well as for remote management. (Terminal license + 3 workstations and Torgsoft client connection to the terminal server)

How to make a decision

Answer the key question:

Will several employees work in the system at the same time, and are they located in one place?

  • No, only me or one cashier → Single computer

  • Yes, several employees in one store / office → Local network

  • Yes, employees work in different locations → Terminal server

Once you have chosen the architecture, it is time to review the system requirements for the computers used with Torgsoft.

After that, you can proceed to the software installation.

Step 1. Installing Torgsoft on the main PC (applies to all)

The procedure is the same:

  • for the “Single computer” architecture;

  • for the main PC (server) in the “Local network” architecture;

  • for the “Terminal server” architecture, where Torgsoft is installed only on the remote server, and workstations connect over the Internet.

1. Downloading the installer

Download the TorgSoftSetup.exe installation file from the official torgsoft.ua website.

2. Installing the software

Use the video tutorial to install Torgsoft on your PC:

Step 2 (for a local network). Preparing the server and connecting client computers

This section is intended only for those who chose the “Local network” architecture and have already installed Torgsoft on the server (main PC).

To perform the required server settings and connect additional computers (checkouts, manager and administrator workstations), use the detailed guide: “How to set up Torgsoft in a local network”.

Step 3 (for a terminal server). Setting up the remote server and connecting workstations

This section is intended only for those who chose the “Terminal server” architecture.

1. Windows Server configuration

On the remote server, you need to configure Windows Server as a terminal server so that remote workstations can connect over the Internet and work with a single Torgsoft database.

Windows Server configuration can be performed by:

  • the user themselves using publicly available information;

  • the Torgsoft technical support team as part of a separate paid service;

  • any qualified third-party specialist.

If you rent a remote server from Torgsoft, all required Windows Server settings are already completed as part of the rental service.

2. Connecting to the remote server

To work with Torgsoft, users with a terminal license must connect to the remote server.

3. Creating Torgsoft user shortcuts

After successfully connecting to the server’s remote desktop:

  1. Go to the Torgsoft program folder:
    C:\TORGSOFT\PROGRAM

  2. Run the torgsoft.exe file.

  3. Log in as the Owner (default: login sa, password 2009).

  4. In the “Settings” menu, open the “Users” form.

  5. Open the user card and click the “Shortcut” button to place a shortcut on the server desktop.

You can also create a new user and create a shortcut in the same way.

The Torgsoft accounting system is ready to operate according to the selected architecture.
