Remote server: principle of operation
Remote Server
(in the context of working with Torgsoft, often called a terminal server) — is a powerful computer constantly connected to the internet where the database and the accounting software itself are physically installed. Users (salespeople, owners, accountants) connect to it via the internet from their regular computers, laptops, or tablets and work in the program as if it were installed directly on their devices.
The main purpose of using a remote server — is to ensure the simultaneous operation of multiple retail outlets or employees within a single database from anywhere in the world in real-time.
How does it work?
For the user, the process looks like this:
Remote Server Organization Options
There are two main ways to obtain a remote server:
You rent computing power in a data center.
You can set up your own powerful computer as a server.
Software Licensing
To work on a remote server, you need the Terminal version of the Torgsoft license.
