The accounting program Torgsoft runs on the Windows operating system:

Database management system — MS SQL Server 2017, 2016, 2014.

Torgsoft can work both on a desktop computer and on a laptop. The program can also be installed on a tablet with Windows 8, 10. Or use a tablet on Android and iOS for client connection to the terminal license.

Please note: below are the standard computer requirements, but in each specific situation they may differ, depending on the type of activity, turnover and the number of simultaneously working users.

One computer in the store

In this case, the version of Торгсофт-Start or Торгсофт-Ultra is installed on the computer.

If the accounting program runs on one computer, without using a local network, then:

Minimum requirements for comfortable work: 

• Processor with a clock frequency of 2.0 GHz.

• RAM of 2 GB.

• Built-in video and sound card, 

• 10 GB of free hard disk space for storing database archives. 

• Screen with a resolution of 1024x768. 

Recommended requirements: 

• Dual-core processor, 

• 4 GB of RAM and more. 

• From 20 GB of free hard disk space for database archives.

Several computers in the store

Each computer in the local network must have a unique name. If you plan to use up to 4 computers connected by a local network in one store, then:

Server requirements: 

• Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7 or similar AMD processor solutions, preferably with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz or higher. 

• 4 GB of RAM or more. 

• More than 20 GB of free hard disk space for database archives.

Requirements for workstations — entry-level computer: 

• Processor with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. 

• 1 GB of RAM, 

• Built-in video and sound card.

If more than four computers will work in the local network, the server configuration should be improved.

Management of the trading network online, via the Internet 

The Torgsoft accounting program in terminal mode works with the Torgsoft-Terminal license and on server operating systems of the Standard edition:

• Windows Server 2008 R2,

• Windows Server 2012,

• Windows Server 2016,

• Windows Server 2019,

• Windows Server 2022,

or other Windows systems with the ability to use remote desktops — Remote Desktop Protocol. 

Server requirements depend on the number of simultaneously connected users. Recommended specifications: 

• Server based on Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7 with at least 4 MB cache, similar solutions based on AMD processors. 

• RAM: 8 GB or more (approximately 150-300 MB of RAM for each connection + at least 4 GB for server operation). 

The amount of RAM required also depends on what access the user has on the server: for example, whether he can use a browser, whether other business applications are running on the server. 

To work in terminal mode, you need to configure the server. This can be done by your system administrator or by the specialists of the technical support service of Torgsoft.

Hard disk for the server

For work, choose SSD disks — they work much faster, which significantly affects the work and calculations of the accounting system. HDD disks are cheaper, but slower — the technology is outdated, they should be taken only as disks for data storage.

The seller's computer

Requirements for client computers to work with the Torgsoft Terminal are minimal — any computer or laptop with Windows will do.

Internet requirements

For the server you need:

• static IP address on the server computer,

• wired connection 10-100-1000 Mbit/s. 

For shops — client computers will do:

• a regular Internet provider with a dynamic or static IP address, or

• 3G modem with speed from 2-4 Mbit/s. 

Approximate traffic: 2.5-3 GB (1 connection, 30 days of store operation, 10-hour working day).

If there is no server

If you do not have a server or do not want to buy it and set it up, you can rent a server.

Does Torgsoft work on macOS?

The accounting program runs on the Windows operating system, where the main computing processes take place, the database works correctly and smoothly, and the trading equipment is connected correctly.

macOS can be used only as a client computer that connects to the main server using the Microsoft Remote Desktop application. macOS works correctly with barcode scanners, but connecting receipt or label printers will be a non-trivial task.

Commercial equipment for the point of sale

A scanner that will greatly simplify the search for goods in the database by barcode, speed up the process of sales and inventory.

Label printer for labeling goods and printing barcodes when goods arrive.

Receipt printer for printing non-fiscal and fiscal receipts of the software fiscal recorder.

Additional recommendations for working with the accounting program

Install an antivirus program on the server and computers of sellers for preventive security of accounting data.

The best protection of the accounting system database is regular archiving. For automatic archiving to Google Drive, activate the additional option "Data security: archive in the cloud" by Torgsoft.

The program can work both on a desktop computer and on a laptop. 

The laptop can work for several hours from the battery and has a small size — this is important for stores where there is little space on the counter. 

Advantages of the computer: better configuration at a lower cost. For the computer, we recommend installing an uninterruptible power supply unit so that in case of a power outage you do not lose the data of the current work.
