Cloud Data Archive — is a Torgsoft option that automatically creates database backups and stores them in Google Drive on a schedule.
The program copies the database to secure cloud storage. Several versions are stored, with the ability to return to a specific date. In case of hardware failure, malware, or loss of access to the work computer, the data can be restored from the archive.
The option provides basic protection against data loss and is suitable for any business using Torgsoft. License for 1 year.
Automatic database backups to Google Drive
Torgsoft creates archives on schedule and uploads them to the cloud so that sales and warehouse history do not disappear together with the computer.

What is Cloud Data Archive
Cloud Data Archive — is an additional feature that creates an archive of the Torgsoft database or program directory and sends it to Google Drive cloud storage. After activation, the Cloud storage archiving tab appears in the Settings — Scheduled tasks menu, where you configure what, when, and where to upload. Archives are placed in a special TORGSOFT_CLOUD folder on your Google Drive.
Unlike a local archive on the same computer, a copy in the cloud remains available even if the disk fails, Windows is damaged, or the computer is encrypted by a virus.
Basic concepts
Database archive
A copy of the main database file with all sales, warehouse, and customer data.
Program directory
The Torgsoft working folder with receipt templates, invoices, and settings.
Photo synchronization
Uploading product images to the TORGSOFT_CLOUD_SYNC folder; only changes are updated.
Restore from the cloud
During program installation, you can sign in to Google and deploy the database directly from the archive.
Retention period
The number of days after which outdated archives are automatically deleted from the cloud.
Google authorization
Connection through the official Google window; the program does not store your password.
Who this option is for
Store on one PC
The entire database is on the work computer, and its failure would mean losing sales history.
Business with its own server
The server is rented from a provider, and an external copy is needed in case of failure or blocking.
Store with product photos
The catalog contains many photos that would take a long time to restore manually.
Customized templates
Your own receipt, price tag, and invoice templates that you do not want to configure again.
Who does not need it. If you already have regular backup to another computer on the local network or to an external drive, and this scenario suits you, a separate cloud copy may be unnecessary. The option adds an independent copy outside the premises.
When to connect it immediately
- The database and program are installed on one computer without duplication to another device.
- You are planning to move to a new PC and want to transfer data without repeated setup.
- You have already experienced disk failures, viruses, or loss of access to the workplace.
What tasks the option solves
How it looks before and after
Before
A database copy is made manually on the same computer or is not made at all. After a disk failure or virus infection, sales history, warehouse data, and settings are completely lost.
After
Torgsoft automatically uploads an archive to Google Drive on schedule. After a failure, you install the program on a new PC and restore the database from the cloud directly in the installer.
How it works: 6 steps
Activation. After connecting the option, the Cloud storage archiving tab appears in the Settings — Scheduled tasks menu.
Creating a task. Click Add and choose the type: database archive, program directory, or photo synchronization.
Schedule. Choose the repeat interval — daily, weekly, or monthly. If needed, enable Compress archive before sending.
Google authorization. Click Authorize, sign in to your Google account in the browser, and grant the Torgsoft CLOUD application access to files.
Launch. Turn on the Task active switch and click Save. Archives will be uploaded to the TORGSOFT_CLOUD folder on your Drive.
Restore. During program installation, select the Restore from image or cloud step, sign in to Google, and choose the required archive.
Important. The local database archive is created by default at 17:00, so set the cloud task at least to 17:10 so that both tasks complete. If the archive is not uploaded, check the internet connection, Google authorization, application server operation, and task execution log.
Try it for yourself
The Torgsoft demo version is free for 30 days. Check schedule settings and cloud upload on your own data before connecting the option.
Option capabilities
Scenarios by niche
Clothing store on one PC
The database with products, sales, and photos is stored on the cash register computer. A daily cloud task, for example at 17:10, uploads a copy to Google Drive, so a cash register PC failure does not mean losing the catalog.
Chain with a rented server
The server is rented from a provider. A separate copy on a personal Google Drive remains available even if the server is blocked due to late payment.
Workshop with custom templates
Configured receipt and job order templates are stored in the program directory. A directory archive task restores them without repeated configuration when moving.
Example
The example is illustrative. A store keeps records on one computer and has configured a cloud database archive every day at 17:10 with compression and a 7-day retention period.
After the system disk failed, the owner installed Torgsoft on a new computer and, at the Restore from image or cloud step, signed in to Google, selected the latest archive, and deployed the database. Sales history and stock balances returned without manual file transfer.
Which options it works with
The option does not require special equipment — internet access and a Google account are enough. It complements other resilience and access tools well:
- Torgsoft Hybrid: sales without internet for a remote server — continues sales when the connection is unstable.
- Torgsoft mobile app — access to sales, warehouse, and reports from a smartphone.
- Software fiscal registrar — fiscalization of sales in the same database.
Comprehensive automation. Cloud Data Archive is responsible for preserving information, while the other options are responsible for sales, fiscalization, and remote access. Together they cover both daily work and protection against data loss.
Price and connection terms
- Licenses. Works with Torgsoft Start, Torgsoft Ultra, and Torgsoft Terminal.
- Connection. The license is purchased for each workplace for separate versions, or one license for the local network, or one license for the terminal license server. The option is paid annually.
- Version. Available from Torgsoft® version 9.3.6 (DB 472) and newer.
- Demo version. Free for 30 days for testing on your own data.
How to connect
- Check that your Torgsoft version is 9.3.6 (DB 472) or newer.
- Order the option on the purchase page or request a consultation.
- After activation, open Settings — Scheduled tasks, create an archiving task, and sign in to Google.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Cloud Data Archive option?
It is an additional Torgsoft feature that automatically creates backup copies of the database or program directory and uploads them to Google Drive on schedule. It protects business information from loss due to hardware failure, viruses, or human error.
Where exactly are archives stored on Google Drive?
The program creates a TORGSOFT_CLOUD folder in the root directory of your Drive and places archives there. A separate TORGSOFT_CLOUD_SYNC folder is created for product photos.
Do I need to delete old archives manually?
No. In the task settings, a retention period in days is set, after which outdated files are deleted automatically. By default, they are deleted bypassing the trash, so they do not occupy storage quota.
Can I keep my personal files in the TORGSOFT_CLOUD folder?
No. The program regularly scans this folder and deletes files older than the specified retention period. Personal documents placed there may also be deleted.
Will the free 15 GB on Google Drive be enough?
Archive compression and the retention period help avoid filling up Google Drive: a 1 GB database takes about 300 MB after compression. For many small databases, the free volume is enough, but it depends on the database size and the number of photos.
How often should archiving be performed?
It depends on sales intensity. Most often, cloud archiving is configured daily at the end of the workday. If you schedule the task by time, do not set it for 17:00 — at this time, a local archive is created by default, so choose at least 17:10.
Why is the archive sometimes not uploaded even though the internet works?
The most common reason is that the computer was turned off or in sleep mode at the task time. Also check Google authorization and application server operation, and see the task execution log for failure details.
What happens if the power or internet goes out during archiving?
The task is not canceled but postponed until the next schedule match. If a sending error occurs, the local archive copy is not deleted and can be taken manually from the path shown in the log.
Can different stores be linked to different Google accounts?
Yes. Authorization takes place when each task is created, so the database of one store can be uploaded to one account and another store's database to another account.
What is uploaded besides the database?
In addition to the database, you can configure a task for the program directory (receipt, price tag, and invoice templates) and for product photo synchronization.
Which licenses does the option work with?
The option is available with Torgsoft Start, Torgsoft Ultra, and Torgsoft Terminal licenses. An activated feature and a Google account are also required.
