How to Install Torgsoft on One Computer and Create a Backup

For an initial installation of Torgsoft on one computer, download the official installer and choose “Тільки на цьому комп’ютері” (Only on this computer). It installs the database, SQL Server, and Torgsoft. After installation, sign in to the program, change the initial password, and create a database backup.

If you already use Torgsoft, save your existing data first. Do not overwrite a working database by installing from scratch. Plan to move the program with its data separately from an initial installation.

Check whether you have a working database

Before running the installer, check whether the computer has Torgsoft with store data and whether you need to move a database from another computer. Choose what to do next based on your situation:

• This is the first installation and there is no data yet. Proceed to download the installer.
• There is already a working database on the computer. Save its archive before making changes and note the file location.
• You need to move an existing program with its data. Create a backup and use the separate instructions for restoring the system from an image.

To preserve the program together with the database, program folder, photos, user data, and receipt templates, create an environment image using “Файл → Архівація → Створення образу оточення” (File → Archiving → Create environment image). To restore everything, all checkboxes must be selected when creating the image. Save the copy separately from files you plan to change.

Download the installer and follow the installation wizard

Get the demo version from the official site using the Torgsoft download instructions. Complete the download form with the future license owner’s correct contact details and read the demo download terms. Download the installer, then follow these steps to install it on one computer:

1. On a Windows computer, run TorgSoftSetup.exe as administrator. Installation starts from this file.
2. Choose Ukrainian as the installation language. The wizard lets you choose a language.
3. Read the license agreement. If you agree to its terms, select “Прийняти” (Accept) and click “Далі” (Next).
4. Choose “Тільки на цьому комп’ютері” (Only on this computer). In this mode, the installer installs the database, SQL Server, and Torgsoft.
5. Choose an installation location. To change it, click “Огляд” (Browse). Write down the selected path.
6. Wait for the installation to finish. Complete the wizard and proceed to launch the program.

Keep the program installation guide open. If you cannot complete a step, write down the step name and the exact message shown. Do not check sign-in until installation is complete.

Open “Торгсофт Власник” (Torgsoft Owner) and change the password

Launch the program using the “Торгсофт Власник” (Torgsoft Owner) shortcut. For the initial sign-in, leave sa in the “Користувач” (User) field, enter the password 2009, and click “Вхід в програму” (Sign in to the program). Use these details for a new installation. For an existing working database, use its credentials.

After the first sign-in, choose the interface language, enter the store name, select the accounting currency, and activate the demo following the program’s prompts and the official instructions linked above. Then open “Налаштування → Користувачі” (Settings → Users) and change the initial password. Then close Torgsoft, reopen it using the same shortcut, and try to sign in with the new password.

This lets you check the result for yourself: whether the program opens and whether you can sign in again. If sign-in fails, record the message and the step where you got stuck. Leave this action marked as incomplete in your checklist.

Create a database backup in Torgsoft

After signing in again, save the database using “Файл → Архівація → Зберегти базу даних” (File → Archiving → Save database). Choose where to save the file and click “Зберегти” (Save). Torgsoft automatically creates a database archive with the .mir extension. If you are saving an existing working database before making changes, do this before running the installer.

Find the file you created and note its location. Check that the file exists in the location you selected when saving it. The file’s presence alone does not prove that the data can be restored: test backups regularly and learn the restore procedure in advance.

Keep several copies of important files in different locations. For future database archives, you can set up automatic backups through “Налаштування → Завдання за розкладом → Завдання на архівацію” (Settings → Scheduled tasks → Archiving task). Create the first copy manually using the database archiving instructions, find the file, and record its location in your work notes.

Illustrative example: one computer for a new store

Suppose an owner is preparing one computer for a new store. There is no working database yet, and no data needs to be moved. The owner downloads the official installer, runs TorgSoftSetup.exe, chooses Ukrainian, accepts the license agreement, and installs the program in “Тільки на цьому комп’ютері” (Only on this computer) mode.

After installation, they open “Торгсофт Власник” (Torgsoft Owner), sign in with the initial details, and change the password. Then they check that they can sign in again, create a database archive, and find the .mir file. They record the installation path and backup location in their work notes. This is an illustrative sequence of steps.

Check the completed steps

• Installation is complete, and the selected installation location has been recorded.
• The program opens using “Торгсофт Власник” (Torgsoft Owner).
• The initial password has been changed, and sign-in with the new password has been checked.
• A database archive has been created, the file has been found, and its location has been recorded.
• If working data existed before the changes, its backup has been saved separately.
• Regular checks of backups and the restore procedure have been scheduled.
