Before planning a Torgsoft update, gather the information the administrator will need: the program version, database information, and the list of components the store uses. Identify who is responsible for the technical work and agree on a time with them.
To view the version, use «Про програму» (About the program). Leave «Перевірити наявність оновлення» (Check for updates) for work that has been agreed on: under certain conditions, it starts downloading and installing.
Note the Torgsoft version and database information
In the «Допомога» (Help) menu, open «Про програму» (About the program). This window shows information about the Torgsoft version and database. The window is described in the «Про програму» (About the program) help page.
Copy the information without abbreviating it, or save a screenshot of this window. Send it to the administrator along with a note about which computer the program was opened on. Do not substitute the package number you saw on the website for the actual version.
Ask the administrator to use this information to choose the instructions and package. In your notes, leave a separate space for their decision: which package they chose and which instructions they are following. Do not work out a sequence of version upgrades on your own.
Collect official links to discuss
The «Оновлення на нашому сайті» (Updates on our website) menu item opens the developer’s official website with Torgsoft updates in a browser. Its function is described in the relevant Help section.
Save the official updates page and the link to the instructions the administrator chooses for your configuration. Ask them to explain which package is needed and whether the instructions call for intermediate upgrades. Do not download a package at random before that decision is made.
Understand what «Перевірити наявність оновлення» (Check for updates) does
This item checks for updates for the current program version: it attempts to download and install an undownloaded update, or installs a downloaded one, even after a previous installation error. When running over the network from a computer other than the main computer, it downloads the package if needed but displays a message blocking installation. This behavior is described in the update check help page.
To gather information for planning only, use «Про програму» (About the program) and the official pages. Agree on running the update check with the administrator, along with the time for the work. Do not ask an employee to click this menu item just to tell you the number of the available version.
Find out what the store configuration includes
Ask the administrator to list the components the store uses. Ask specifically about the application server: it is responsible for automatic database archiving, Torgsoft Hybrid, the mobile app, and automatic cost calculation. These tasks are listed in the application server help page.
Give the administrator a list of what employees use: the main program, remote workstations, the mobile app, or Hybrid. Ask them to clarify the configuration and the work sequence for its components. Do not set the order for updating them based on your own assumptions.
Discuss a database copy and a restore check
When you select «Налаштування — Завантажити пакет оновлень» (Settings — Download update package), Torgsoft offers to make a copy of the database. This action is described in the package download help page.
Torgsoft also offers an option to save the database to an archive file. This option is described in the archiving help page. Ask the administrator to decide how to save the database and where to store the copy for your configuration.
Agree separately on a restore check: who will perform it, in which separate environment, and how they will check that the required data is present. Do not treat the mere creation of an archive as the result of such a check. Leave the restore method and assessment criteria for the administrator to decide.
Prepare questions for the responsible administrator
Make a short table for your discussion. Fill in the answers once they have been agreed on, and mark unresolved questions separately.

Example message
Suppose a store has two work computers and uses the Torgsoft mobile app. The owner has saved the information from «Про програму» (About the program), but the package and installation time have not yet been agreed on.
The owner sends the administrator this note: “I’m sending the program version and database information. The store has two work computers, and we also use the mobile app. Please identify the required instructions and package, clarify the configuration, and suggest a time for the work. Let’s also agree separately on wrapping up work, saving a copy, checking the restore, and the conditions for employees to return to the program.”
After receiving a reply, the owner fills in the table and tells employees the agreed organizational steps. Any unanswered questions go back to the administrator before an installation time is scheduled.
