What to Know About Torgsoft Before Choosing

Choosing an inventory program

Test the program with your store’s daily tasks

Before buying an inventory program, compare its capabilities with the way your store works: who receives goods, who makes sales, how returns are processed, and what information the owner needs.

Prepare a few of your own products and familiar scenarios. This check will help you assess the inventory workflow and formulate specific questions for the consultant.

Inventory through product transactions

In Torgsoft, you can record goods received from a supplier, sales to customers, returns, and transfers between stores or warehouses. Before choosing, check the specific transactions your staff perform regularly.

The program also supports stocktaking and financial accounting, including tracking expenses by retail location and calculating profit. During your review, compare the documents with the actual quantities of goods and payment amounts: the owner needs to understand where the final figures come from.

Access tailored to each employee’s role

Role-based access in Torgsoft lets you control users’ access to information and actions. For example, a salesperson needs access to sales and returns, a product specialist needs to work with products, and the owner needs management data.

Write down in advance who may change prices, process documents, and view financial information. Then check the agreed restrictions under each role’s account. Ask employees to perform their usual tasks and note anything unclear.

Prepare your data and future workflow

If you already keep records in Excel or another system, gather product names, stock levels, prices, and barcodes. Remove duplicates and agree with the consultant on which data can be migrated and in what format. Before making the final switch, it is worth checking a small part of the catalog against the original records.

Torgsoft supports operation at a single workstation and networked work across multiple workstations using one database. Retail equipment can be connected to the program, including scanners and receipt and label printers. Agree on the specific models and required configuration before purchase.

If you plan to use remote retail locations, PRRO, an online store, marketplaces, or delivery, include these tasks in your consultation request. Clarify the solution’s components, license terms, and how each connection will be tested.

The basis for your choice

Your transactions + employee roles + workstations + required connections.

What to check before deciding

1

Follow the movement of goods

Record a receipt, sale, and return using several of your own products. If you work with multiple warehouses, check transfers as well.

2

Check the results

Carry out a test stocktake. Review the available reports and check whether you can explain the stock levels and daily transaction totals.

3

Involve your employees

Ask a salesperson and product specialist to repeat their tasks. Write down questions about access, data, and workflow.

After the review, you should have a list of required functions, an agreed workflow, and a set of questions to resolve before purchase.

Clarify the terms and get help

Technical support helps with setup and getting started. The website also has guides and video lessons for self-study. Review the terms of ongoing support on the technical support page.
