How to Prepare a Store Promotion for GoToShop: Prices, Terms, and Sales Checks

14.09.2026 10:00

To prepare a promotion for GoToShop, first contact the service operator and agree on whether and under what terms your offer can be listed. Then identify the products, store addresses, dates, previous and promotional prices, and purchase conditions. The owner or an authorized manager should approve these details before materials are submitted, and store employees should check stock and the final checkout price.

GoToShop shares information about store promotions and price comparisons. On its official contact page, the service says that it is not a store and does not sell products. A store needs to arrange publication separately, keep its offer up to date, and measure results using the data available. The steps below can help you organize this work.

GoToShop: promotions and price comparison service

How to contact GoToShop about listing a promotion

On its About Us page, GoToShop lists info@gotoshop.ua. A contact form is also available on the contact page. The service has sections for promotions, price comparisons, catalogues, stores, discounted products, and promo codes. It supports searches by store, category, product, and barcode. Having contact details does not mean a listing is automatically approved.

Assign one employee to correspond with the operator. In your first message, provide the store name, product category, cities, website if available, and a brief description of the promotion. Ask them to clarify:

  • whether your offer can be listed, its cost, and any other terms;
  • who adds the store and publishes the materials;
  • which product details, images, and links are required;
  • how long the materials review takes and whether a preview is available;
  • how to submit corrections, report an out-of-stock product, and end the promotion;
  • whether the service provides statistics and which customer actions they cover.

Message template: “Hello! I represent [store name], which sells [product category] in [city, addresses]. We plan to offer a discount on [products] during [period]. Could you tell us whether a listing on GoToShop is possible, and what the terms, cost, and material requirements are? Please also explain the process for approving, correcting, and ending the listing. Contact person: [name, contact details]; store website: [link].”

While you wait for the operator’s reply, prepare details and materials for your own channels. Include the GoToShop listing in your launch plan once the dates and listing method have been agreed.

Price, discount, and sale requirements to meet

Parts 3–6 of Article 15 of the Law of Ukraine “On Consumer Protection,” No. 1023-XII set out the rules for stating prices and using the terms “discount” and “sale.” A seller must state the price per item or product category and per standard unit of the product. The price must be clear and include all taxes and mandatory charges the consumer pays at the time of purchase. For a packaged product, state the price per package; for an unpackaged product, state the price per standard unit of measurement.

You may describe an offer as a discount or reduced price when the store directly sells the relevant product, the reduction applies for a defined limited period, and the price is lower than usual. For a sale, you need to identify all products at a particular location or a clearly defined product group, limit the duration, and set prices below the usual prices. After making a public announcement, you must provide customers with the price before the reduction and the price after it. These requirements also apply to food products.

If several products are sold for one price, or buying one product gives the right to buy another at a lower price, the seller must explain the offer and its cost, duration, and restrictions, including quantity limits. For a bundle sold at one price, you must also state the prices of the items separately. So, if an offer is “only when you buy two packages,” show that condition next to the relevant price.

Under Part 4 of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On Advertising”, an advertisement for a price reduction or sale must state the location, start and end dates, and how the new price compares with the previous one or the discount amount. A special rule applies to audio media: the advertisement must name the source of information about the discount or sale terms. For a GoToShop offer, prepare a complete written description with prices, addresses, and dates.

As a practical measure, support the usual and previous prices with your own accounting records and keep a history of changes. Compare the same product, version, package, and sales unit; otherwise, even a correctly calculated percentage will not explain the actual saving to the customer.

How to gather product details and images for an offer

Create one working spreadsheet for employees who check products, prices, and publication details. The structure below is for internal preparation; agree on the submission format with the GoToShop operator.

DetailsWhat to enter and check
Place of saleStore name, city, exact addresses, and whether the online store is included, if applicable.
ProductName, brand, item number or barcode, weight or volume, quantity per package, size, and variant.
PricesPrice before the promotion, promotional price in hryvnias, sales unit, and verified discount amount.
DatesStart and end; if needed, hours and days of the week; clarify whether the last day is included.
Purchase conditionsCustomer card, promo code, required quantity, minimum purchase amount, purchase limit, and whether other discounts can be combined.
AvailabilityStock by address, confirmed replenishment, and the employee responsible for reporting changes.
MaterialsApproved images, product link, contact for the person in charge, and approval status.

The person responsible for the materials should separately collect original images the store has permission to use and get the manager’s approval. The photo must show the product and packaging being offered. If the image includes the price or terms, check them against the spreadsheet. Send the operator one approved set of files so they do not receive conflicting versions.

How to check the discount and the amount left from sales

Illustrative example: A 250 g package of coffee previously cost UAH 200 and will sell for UAH 160 during the promotion. The reduction is UAH 200 − UAH 160 = UAH 40, or UAH 40 ÷ UAH 200 × 100% = 20%. If this price is available only with a customer card, state: “Coffee [name], 250 g — UAH 160 with a customer card; price before the promotion — UAH 200; discount — 20%.” Add the dates and addresses, as well as any other restrictions.

Before approving the promotion, the owner should check the financial calculation. If the purchase cost is an illustrative UAH 120, a sale for UAH 160 leaves UAH 40 to cover other expenses. If variable costs per unit sold are another UAH 5, the remainder is UAH 160 − UAH 120 − UAH 5 = UAH 35. With UAH 800 in listing and material costs, the arithmetic gives UAH 800 ÷ UAH 35 = 22.86, or at least 23 such sales to cover that amount. This calculation does not prove the promotion will generate additional sales, and it does not include all store expenses.

How the owner can approve the promotion and check its launch

  1. Confirm the offer can be fulfilled. Store managers confirm stock and replenishment. If stock is limited, the owner reduces the list of locations or agrees on a clear quantity limit before publication.
  2. Approve the final details. The owner or an authorized manager approves the products, prices, dates, terms, and costs. The person in charge keeps the approved spreadsheet and materials.
  3. Send the offer to the operator. One employee submits the approved package using the agreed method and receives confirmation of acceptance and the publication timeframe.
  4. Check how it appears. If a preview is available, check it before publication. After publication, open the offer on a phone and a computer and verify the addresses, product, prices, dates, terms, and links.
  5. Check the checkout. The cashier and the person responsible for pricing check a purchase with and without the required card, the required quantity and a smaller quantity, as well as a similar product outside the promotion. They also check the final price if other discounts apply.

If there is an error, the person in charge saves the link, a screenshot, and the time checked, then sends the operator a precise correction. After being told that the change has been made, they reopen the listing. A price change at checkout also requires a separate check of the price tag, the store website, and the GoToShop offer.

How to set promotional prices in Torgsoft for a GoToShop offer

If the store keeps its records in Torgsoft, the person responsible for pricing can apply the approved terms in “Маркетинг → Акції” (“Marketing → Promotions”). The official help guide describes how to set a percentage or fixed discount, product group, stores, period, and customer restrictions. Select the same products and stores named in the offer, then set the dates and customer conditions. On the “Результат” (“Result”) tab, read the description of the promotion you created and check the product list for the relevant store to catch any unwanted items before launch.

For the “Роздріб” (“Retail”) or “Опт і роздріб” (“Wholesale and retail”) trade types, the promotion applies to retail prices and does not apply to “Ціна зі знижкою” (“Discounted price”). The cashier should therefore check the actual final price, especially if the customer receives other discounts. After changing a promotion, the help guide calls for restarting the program or clicking “Нова реалізація” (“New sale”) in the “Реалізація” (“Sale”) form. Repeat the check after doing so.

For a prepared price change, use “Документ → Акт переоцінки” (“Document → Revaluation document”): it keeps a history and requires the revaluation to be applied separately. When price synchronization across the whole network is enabled, the help guide calls for applying the revaluation to one accounting center or, if a Central center is present, to that center. These settings do not automatically connect to GoToShop: arrange submission and listing updates separately with the operator.

How to update stock availability and end the promotion

Set a regular time to check stock and assign an employee at each location. For a product that sells quickly, check availability more often during the day. When stock is running low, the employee informs the person responsible for the listing, who then agrees with the operator whether to remove a location, change the offer, or stop showing it. Keep a record of when you contacted them and check that the update has taken effect.

Before the promotion ends, the manager tells cashiers the exact end time. After it ends, the person in charge checks that the discount has been disabled in the software, price tags have been replaced, the store page has been updated, and the GoToShop offer has been removed or updated. If the listing is still available, check whether it clearly says the promotion has ended and contact the operator if needed.

How to assess sales and costs after publication

Before launch, decide which available metrics to track. If the operator accepts links with source tags and the website can recognize them, track visits. Use a separate promo code only if the store can honor its terms and record when it is applied. For in-store purchases, cashiers can ask customers consistently how they heard about the promotion; those answers will be incomplete.

Illustrative results: The store records 30 sales at UAH 160 each, with a purchase cost of UAH 120 and variable costs of UAH 5 per unit. Revenue is UAH 4,800, and the amount left after those costs is 30 × UAH 35 = UAH 1,050. After UAH 800 in listing and material costs, UAH 250 remains before other expenses. Even using a separate promo code does not prove that every purchase was additional.

The owner compares the result with a similar period without a promotion, taking stock, weekends, and other advertising into account. Using this information, they decide which products, discounts, locations, and costs to change next time. Keeping the terms, sales, and corrections on record can help reduce discrepancies in the next offer.
