NovaPay Parcel on Credit: How Online Stores Can Set Up Sales and Verify Payments

NovaPay’s “Parcel on Credit” lets buyers pay for a shipment with credit funds and repay the lender according to a schedule. The store processes the sale as cash on delivery (COD) and receives a transfer under its agreement. The seller does not wait for the buyer’s monthly instalments, but must verify that the funds have actually reached the business account.

Before dispatch, set up COD, check the amount and the recipient of the funds, and decide how to issue the product receipt. Explain to buyers where they can check their credit limit and terms. NovaPay Credit LLC decides whether to grant credit, so the store cannot guarantee approval or the same credit cost for everyone.

Who sells the product, transfers the money, and provides the credit

Each party has a separate role in this order. The store sells the product and handles product-related enquiries. Nova Poshta delivers the shipment. NovaPay LLC provides payment services, while NovaPay Credit LLC provides the buyer’s credit. The buyer who signs the credit documents is the borrower.

The credit may cover COD, delivery, and the transfer fee payable by the buyer. As a result, the credit amount may be higher than the product price. For example, if the product costs UAH 3,000 and the credit also covers delivery and transfer services, the store checks payment for the product separately. The buyer’s costs for those services should not be added to the store’s revenue.

How a buyer applies for Parcel on Credit

The service is available to Ukrainian citizens aged 18 to 69 who send or receive an order at least once every six months. NovaPay Credit LLC sets each limit individually. The buyer checks the limit and whether a specific shipment can be paid for in the NovaPay app.

The amount due must be at least UAH 500. The credit amount, including delivery and the transfer fee, must fit within the available limit and must not exceed UAH 300,000 under a single credit agreement, even if the buyer’s overall limit is higher. The buyer chooses a term of 1 to 36 months from the options offered in the app and checks it in the documents before signing.

  1. The buyer installs the NovaPay app, registers, and opens an account with NovaPay LLC.
  2. In the “Credits” section, the buyer calculates their overall limit. For this, among other checks, the lender reviews the buyer’s credit history with their consent.
  3. The buyer orders a product for delivery by Nova Poshta with COD. In the app, they select one or more eligible shipments within the limit.
  4. If the buyer wants to inspect the product before taking out the credit, they first examine it at a branch. After inspection, they continue the application in the app.
  5. The buyer reads the credit documents, checks the payments and term, and signs the documents using a one-time password sent to their phone.
  6. The buyer waits for confirmation that the credit has been successfully arranged and the parcel paid for. Once confirmed, they receive the shipment.

A store manager can explain these steps and provide a link to the service. If the buyer has no available limit or the shipment they need does not appear as eligible for credit payment, they should contact NovaPay. Placing a COD order does not mean the credit has already been approved.

What buyers should check before signing

Do not describe the service as interest-free instalments. Buyers should read the consumer credit information sheet, application for accession, agreement, and payment schedule. They should check:

  • the credit amount and the expenses it covers;
  • the total cost of credit — the full amount they will have to repay;
  • the interest rate and any one-off or monthly fees;
  • the annual percentage rate, which accounts for the total cost of credit;
  • the term, amount and dates of monthly payments, and the consequences of late payment.

For example, a low interest rate alone does not show the full cost: fees may also be included in the payments. Buyers can see the exact terms in their own documents before signing. On the store’s checkout page, it is better to link to NovaPay’s current terms than to publish rates and fees in the store’s own description.

How sellers can set up COD and verify incoming funds

The owner or an authorised employee connects COD to a business account under an agreement with NovaPay. The account may be held with NovaPay or a bank. The seller’s fee, how it is charged, and the settlement time are set by the terms of the seller’s current agreement. Do not promise that the full amount will arrive immediately without checking those terms.

Before handing over a parcel, the manager checks the product price, COD amount, shipment recipient details, and payment recipient details. They add the consignment note number to the order and send the buyer the tracking number. They also record separately who pays for delivery and the transfer, so staff do not mix those costs up with payment for the product.

After payment, the responsible employee matches the order and consignment note number against the NovaPay transfer register and the account statement. If the agreement provides for a seller fee deduction, they also reconcile it against the difference between the COD amount and the funds credited. The parcel’s delivery status helps track delivery; the store’s payment is confirmed by the funds actually arriving.

The borrower’s monthly payments go to the lender. The store does not record a new product sale for each such payment. If a transfer is delayed, the employee checks the consignment note, payment details, and settlement time specified in the agreement, then contacts NovaPay about that shipment.

What receipt is required for the product

A NovaPay transfer receipt confirms the payment service. It does not replace the seller’s receipt for the product if the seller is required to use an RRO or PRRO — a cash register or software that issues fiscal receipts.

Before the first shipment, the owner and accountant establish which party processes the buyer’s payment under the agreements and which party issues the product document. The owner then configures the required receipt and how it will be provided to the buyer. Calling a payment “COD” and receiving a transfer from an intermediary to an IBAN do not, by themselves, establish an exemption from RRO/PRRO requirements. The State Tax Service distinguishes between carrier-operated arrangements and those involving a separate financial intermediary, so the store must check its own agreements.

How to process a return for a product bought on credit

The seller handles product-related enquiries and determines the return procedure under the rules applicable to that product and reason for the enquiry. Do not promise that every product can be returned within 14 days: the law sets conditions and exceptions for distance contracts.

The employee records the enquiry, order number, condition of the returned product, amount, and reason for the return. Before transferring money, they confirm the correct payment details and prepare the return documents. The buyer should separately ask the lender how the refunded amount will affect their debt. The store’s acceptance of a return does not confirm that the credit has automatically been closed.

The buyer may repay all or part of the credit early without an additional fee for early repayment itself. However, they must pay interest and any stipulated costs for the actual period of use. The buyer should ask the lender to confirm the amount required for full repayment.

How to calculate the store’s result

Illustrative example: product price — UAH 3,000; purchase cost — UAH 1,900; packaging — UAH 40; seller’s transfer and other service costs — UAH 60. The last amount is illustrative and is not a NovaPay tariff.

Calculation: 3,000 − 1,900 − 40 − 60 = UAH 1,000. This is the amount remaining before taxes, fixed costs, and possible returns. Do not deduct delivery and fees paid separately by the buyer a second time as store expenses.

To assess the service, compare the number of shipments sent, received, and paid for, as well as returns and their costs, across comparable periods. Changes in these indicators can inform a decision, but do not by themselves prove that credit caused sales to increase.

Nova Poshta consignment notes and COD in Torgsoft

The separate paid “Nova Poshta Integration” option is available for Torgsoft Ultra and Terminal; it is not available in the Start version. An internet connection and an API key — an access key from the Nova Poshta account — are required. An employee adds the sender, creates an invoice in “Sales with invoice issuance” mode, then creates a goods dispatch note and a consignment note (TTN) from it.

If the invoice is marked “COD” and an outstanding balance remains on the goods dispatch note, Torgsoft inserts “Payment Control” when this service is available to the sender, or “COD”. Availability depends on the terms of the agreement with Nova Poshta. Before dispatch, the employee checks the amount inserted and the TTN settings.

The option lets staff print consignment notes and track their statuses. It helps monitor shipments, but does not arrange consumer credit or determine the buyer’s limit. TTN statuses also do not show whether the buyer has repaid their credit. The employee reconciles the store’s payment against the transfer register and account statement; the setup is described in the Torgsoft guide.
