A short video can show a product’s texture, a mechanism in motion, assembly, and how to use it. Build the video around a specific customer question: what should they see or understand how to do after watching?
Prepare a shot list and explanations in Ukrainian. Use a tripod to reduce camera shake. Before the main shoot, make a test recording and check image and sound clarity.
Decide what to demonstrate
Depending on the product, choose what needs to be shown:
- Texture — a close-up of the product’s surface.
- Movement — how an individual part or mechanism works.
- Assembly — the sequence of steps.
- Setup — the steps for preparing the product for use.
- Use — actions involving the product while it is operating.
If you need to explain a defect or damage, show the relevant area and describe what is visible there.
Make a shot list and prepare explanations
For each selected action or feature, write down what will be in the shot and what needs to be explained in Ukrainian. For example, prepare a sequence of steps for assembly, and a shot of the mechanism in operation to show its movement.
Link each explanation to what you are showing. If you demonstrate opening a part, describe that action. If you show a surface, explain its visible features.
Check clarity with a test recording
Secure the camera on a tripod: it reduces shake and makes the image more stable and clear.
Record test shots with explanations. Review the recording and check:
- Whether the surface or part you are demonstrating is clearly visible.
- Whether the action being shown can be seen clearly.
- Whether the explanations in Ukrainian are easy to hear and understand.
If the image or sound is unclear, adjust the filming and make another test recording.
Example shot plan for a manual vegetable chopper
For a hypothetical product, you can build the demonstration around the texture of the body, the mechanism’s movement, and how to use it:
- Film a close-up of the body’s surface.
- Show the mechanism in motion.
- Demonstrate the sequence of use.
Prepare an explanation of the feature or action shown for each shot. For another product, choose shots according to what needs to be demonstrated.
