For a short product video, choose one task: show the product in an everyday situation, explain a feature, compare options, or demonstrate how to use it. Start with the task itself or a product detail. Then show it in action and finish with a specific suggestion: view the model description or contact the store to place an order.
Prepare the product and write a short script before filming. For each shot, note the action, caption, and feature it explains. The owner or person responsible for the product range should check these details against the specific model and the manufacturer’s instructions.
Prepare the product and filming brief
Use a clean, undamaged item. Show the exact model and configuration you are offering to the customer. If the demonstration requires extra items, explain separately whether they are included in the set.
Give the employee filming the video a short brief:
- Product name and article number, so similar models are not mixed up.
- One customer question the video answers.
- The sequence of actions with the product on camera.
- Exact captions without unverified properties.
- The viewer’s next step and how to take it.
Do not add a feature just because it seems obvious in the video. If you plan to mention material, dimensions, or care instructions, first find this information for the relevant model.
Script 1. Show a specific task
For the SKUBB 101.855.93 organiser, you can film socks, belts, and jewellery being placed in its compartments. This model is designed to organise these items in a wardrobe.
Shot one: the items laid out beside the organiser. Caption: “Sort socks, belts, and jewellery.” Shot two: an employee places them in the compartments one by one. Shot three: a top-down view of the filled organiser. End with: “View the SKUBB 101.855.93 description” and show the actual way to find the product in the store.
Use items that really fit in this particular organiser. Do not generalise the demonstration to any quantity of items or any wardrobe.
Script 2. Explain one feature in close-up
The UPPDATERA 205.464.67 box has two grip handles. Build the video around this detail: first show the whole box, then both handles, and then an employee taking hold of them and lifting the box.
Use the model name and the caption “Two grip handles.” Finish by suggesting that viewers view the product description. Do not state a load capacity unless manufacturer data is available for this model.
Script 3. Compare options by visible differences
Place SKUBB 101.855.93 and UPPDATERA 205.464.67 side by side. Shot one: both models with their names. Shot two: SKUBB’s compartments with items arranged inside. Shot three: UPPDATERA’s handles and hands gripping the box.
Caption the specific features shown: “SKUBB: compartments for organising items” and “UPPDATERA: two handles.” Finish by suggesting that viewers view both model descriptions. Do not declare one better for all customers. If you add a dimension comparison, first check the figures for each article number.
Script 4. Show how to use it step by step
For SKUBB 101.855.93, you can film how to fold the product. The manufacturer describes this sequence: open the zipper on the bottom and fold the organiser flat.
Film the empty organiser, then show the bottom and the zipper being opened. In the next shot, show the folding itself. Captions should match the actions: “Open the zipper on the bottom,” “Fold flat.” Keep the transition between these actions in the edit.
Illustrative example: divide 15 seconds between shots
Suppose a store decides to allocate 15 seconds to demonstrating how to fold SKUBB. This is an example duration, with no promise of a sale within that time.
| Time | Shot | Caption |
|---|---|---|
| 0–3 sec | Empty organiser | Folding SKUBB 101.855.93 |
| 3–7 sec | Opening the zipper on the bottom | Open the zipper |
| 7–12 sec | Folding the product flat | Fold flat |
| 12–15 sec | Folded organiser and model name | View the model description |
If the action cannot be shown clearly in the time allotted, make the video longer. Do not remove a necessary instruction step to make the video shorter.
Check the shots, captions, and product page
Before posting, review the video alongside the order page. Compare the model, features shown, and configuration. Read every caption and check that it matches the action on screen. Open the page where you are directing the customer.
For advertising, TikTok prohibits exaggerating the results of a product’s use. Showing a different product on the website can lead to an ad being rejected. Ad captions must also match the video, and the landing page must work without errors and must not be under development. These requirements are described in the policies on misleading content, matching the product in the ad and on the website, and ad format and landing pages.
Torgsoft dynamic attributes for preparing captions
Before filming, decide which product attributes are needed to explain the item. In Torgsoft, you can create extended dynamic product attributes. These let you add attributes for the relevant product type.
Use the entered values as reference data when preparing the filming brief. The person responsible for the product range can compare them with the manufacturer’s instructions and give the employee precise wording for captions. This feature is described in the Torgsoft product card documentation.
Before putting the values in the video, check them against the specific product. Creating a dynamic attribute does not by itself confirm that the entered data is correct.
