The typical installation scheme of the Torgsoft program (in the “Only on this computer” variant) involves deploying a full server and client environment on one device.
What is installed during the setup?
According to sources, the installation process includes the following key components:
-
SQL Server Database Management System. The program works on the SQL Server base (for example, versions 2008, 2014, or 2017), which is the “engine” for storing all information.
-
Torgsoft Software. The main user interface for operation.
-
Windows Services. For proper system operation, special services are registered and started in the OS: SQL Server (Torgsoft), TorgsoftLicenceService (license service), and TorgsoftService.
-
Application Server. This is an additional component that is automatically installed during the first launch of the program.
-
System Libraries. Required for operation are the .NET Framework (version 3.5 or higher) and SQL Native Client.
-
Access Shortcuts. Shortcuts for various roles (“Owner,” “Seller”), a help file, and TeamViewerQS for remote support appear on the desktop.
Where is the data stored?
By default, the program suggests installation in the folder C:\Torgsoft, although experts recommend using a non-system drive (for example, D or E drive) to protect the data during OS reinstallation.
The main folder and data structure looks like this:
-
Database Folder: contains the working database files in .mdf and .ldf formats.
-
Photo Folder: used for storing product photos that are displayed in the accounting system.
-
Program Folder: contains all the program's executable files, individual connection settings, keys, and document print templates.
-
Torgsoft Journal Folder: created separately (usually on drive C) and serves as the storage location for archived database copies (files with the .mir extension), which are created manually or according to a schedule.
