Several Sole Proprietorships can operate at the same checkout: for example, some products are sold by one entrepreneur and others by another, while a single bank terminal accepts customers' card payments. In this setup, it is important that the payment goes to the account of the Sole Proprietorship selling the product and that the fiscal receipt is generated through its PECR. Business owners often ask how Torgsoft selects the correct merchant, what to check after adding a second Sole Proprietorship, and why funds sometimes reach the correct account while the fiscal receipt is issued on behalf of another entrepreneur.
What needs to be linked together
This setup involves several separate elements.
Business — a Sole Proprietorship or legal entity on whose behalf products are sold.
Bank account — the entrepreneur's account into which cashless payments are received.
Merchant — the merchant identifier used by the bank terminal. If one POS terminal accepts payments for two Sole Proprietorships, the bank must configure the corresponding merchants on the terminal.
PECR — a cash register registered to a specific business entity and used to fiscalize sales.
In Torgsoft, a bank terminal merchant is linked to a specific bank account. Several merchants can be configured for one account, and each merchant can be designated for payments, refunds, or both operations.
Therefore, the practical setup is best understood as follows: Sole Proprietorship → its bank account → its merchant → POS terminal and separately: Sole Proprietorship → its PECR.

The bank terminal handles the movement of funds, while PECR generates the fiscal receipt. Both results must relate to the same seller.
First, check the business and bank account
If a store has two Sole Proprietorships, the following must be clear for each one:
-
which products it sells;
-
which bank account is used to receive its cashless payments;
-
which PECR is used to fiscalize its sales.
This requires particular attention if a cashier works with different businesses throughout the day or can change the account in the payment window.
Torgsoft's internal materials describe real situations in which a cashier switched to another Sole Proprietorship, but the bank account remained assigned to the previous one. As a result, cash and cashless portions of sales could be recorded under different businesses.
The main rule is therefore simple: the account selected for a cashless payment must belong to the entrepreneur on whose behalf the sale is being processed.
Check the merchants on the POS terminal itself
Adding a second Sole Proprietorship in Torgsoft does not automatically mean the terminal is ready to accept payments for it. The bank must first register the corresponding merchant on the POS terminal.
In Torgsoft, open: Settings → Parameters → Additional Features → Bank Terminal and use the «Get Terminal Information» function.
For supported integrations, this function allows you to view the merchants registered on the terminal. If the required merchant is missing, you cannot add it using Torgsoft alone — the bank must configure it first.
For example:
-
Sole Proprietorship A has account A and merchant A;
-
Sole Proprietorship B has account B and merchant B.
In Torgsoft, merchant A must be linked to account A, and merchant B to account B.
Do not assume that «merchant 1 belongs to the first Sole Proprietorship and merchant 2 to the second». The merchant number or name must be obtained from the terminal information or confirmed with the bank.
After configuring merchants in Torgsoft, we recommend making a small test payment, checking the Merchant ID and the bank account receiving the funds, and then performing a test refund. This will help you immediately verify that each merchant is linked to the correct bank account.
If one account has multiple merchants
In Torgsoft, you can enable the «Default» setting for a merchant. The merchant will then be suggested automatically for transactions involving the corresponding bank account.
There is also a «Show Merchant Selection Dialog» setting. If several options are available for one account, the software can prompt the cashier to select a merchant during payment.
This is useful, but when multiple Sole Proprietorships are involved, the workflow should not rely on the cashier guessing which merchant to select every time.
It is better to configure a clear relationship in advance:
- Sole Proprietorship A's account → merchant A
- Sole Proprietorship B's account → merchant B.
How to check PECR
Separately, check which PECR generates receipts for each entrepreneur.
It is important not to confuse two different functions:
-
the merchant determines which bank-registered merchant processes the card transaction;
-
PECR determines the business entity on whose behalf the fiscal receipt is generated.
This means an undesirable situation is entirely possible: the money reaches Sole Proprietorship A's account, but the PECR receipt is issued on behalf of Sole Proprietorship B. After configuration, you need to check not only the bank receipt but also the seller's details on the fiscal receipt.
How to perform a test for two Sole Proprietorships
The most reliable way to verify the setup is to make a separate small sale for each entrepreneur.
Test for Sole Proprietorship A
Sell a product belonging to Sole Proprietorship A and accept payment by card.
Check the following:
-
Sole Proprietorship A's account is selected in Torgsoft.
-
Sole Proprietorship A's merchant is used for the transaction.
-
The POS terminal confirmed the payment.
-
The funds appear in the correct bank account.
-
The fiscal receipt is generated through Sole Proprietorship A's PECR.
Then repeat the same checks for Sole Proprietorship B.
How to handle sales involving products from different Sole Proprietorships
Such receipts require the most attention.
Do not assume that simply adding a product from Sole Proprietorship A and a product from Sole Proprietorship B to a single sale will cause Torgsoft, in every configuration, to automatically split the payment between two merchants and generate the required fiscal receipts.
For mixed sales involving products from different entrepreneurs, payment allocation depends on the Torgsoft settings. To ensure that products belonging to different Sole Proprietorships are correctly allocated between their respective PECRs and bank accounts, the workflow must be configured in advance.
After configuration, we recommend performing a mixed test sale and checking:
-
which documents Torgsoft creates;
-
which accounts are used to process payments;
-
which merchants the bank terminal uses;
-
which PECRs generate the fiscal receipts.
Refunds must also be checked for each Sole Proprietorship
Correctly processed sales for both Sole Proprietorships do not guarantee that refunds will work correctly.
The terminal may have:
-
a separate merchant for payments;
-
a separate merchant for refunds;
-
one merchant configured for «Payment/Refund».
The specific option depends on the integration and bank settings. Torgsoft supports different operating configurations. Therefore, after making a test payment for Sole Proprietorship A, process a small refund. Then repeat the test for Sole Proprietorship B.
If a sale for Sole Proprietorship B is processed correctly but the refund goes through Sole Proprietorship A or fails entirely, you need to check the refund merchant and the bank account to which it is linked.
This can happen if the bank has configured several merchants to accept payments but has configured refunds differently for the second account or has not configured them at all.
What to do if the money went to one Sole Proprietorship but the receipt was issued by another
Do not charge the customer's card again.
First, record:
-
which account actually received the bank payment;
-
which merchant the POS terminal used;
-
which Sole Proprietorship issued the fiscal receipt;
-
which bank account was selected in Torgsoft.
If the bank has already successfully charged the card, sending another payment request to the POS terminal may result in a duplicate charge.
If the funds were processed through the correct Sole Proprietorship's bank account on the bank terminal, but the fiscal receipt was issued on behalf of another Sole Proprietorship, reverse the transaction through the PECR of the entrepreneur on whose behalf the receipt should not have been issued.
After that:
-
Open the completed sale for editing in the «Sales» window.
-
Delete the payments associated with this sale.
-
Process the payment again through the correct entrepreneur's PECR.
-
In the «Payment» window, clear the «Use Bank Terminal Connection» checkbox.
There is no need to send the amount to the POS terminal again because the bank payment has already been successfully processed through the correct Sole Proprietorship.
What to check after replacing a terminal or adding a new Sole Proprietorship
After such changes, follow the same short checklist:
-
The bank has confirmed that the required merchants are registered on the POS terminal.
-
Their names or numbers have been verified using «Get Terminal Information».
-
Each merchant in Torgsoft is linked to the correct bank account.
-
The correct PECR has been verified for each Sole Proprietorship.
-
A separate test payment has been made for each Sole Proprietorship.
-
The actual receipt of funds has been verified with the bank.
-
A test refund has been processed for each Sole Proprietorship.
This check helps identify most problems before actual customer sales begin.
Key takeaway
When several Sole Proprietorships are involved, the POS terminal, bank account, and PECR should not be treated as a single system.
Check two connected paths: Sole Proprietorship → bank account → merchant → POS and Sole Proprietorship → PECR.
After configuration, perform a separate payment and refund for each Sole Proprietorship and compare the results: the entrepreneur identified in the bank transaction, the account receiving the funds, and the entrepreneur named on the fiscal receipt.
If all these details correspond to the same Sole Proprietorship, the integration is configured correctly.
