An outdated version of cryptographic libraries is used: how to update and restore the pECR
If the message «An outdated version of cryptographic libraries is being used (1.3.1.110)» appears in the Torgsoft software, this means that special system files must be updated for the correct operation of the software ECR and digital signatures.
Updating cryptographic libraries affects the operation of the pECR, receipt signing, and Windows system components, so it should be done carefully. If you install the libraries on the wrong computer, specify the wrong directory, or change access permissions without understanding the consequences, the pECR may stop connecting completely. Special caution is required in terminal mode, where the update is performed on the server itself. Before making any changes, make sure you understand which PC or server has the active cryptographic modules installed. If you are not sure how to proceed, contact technical support.
To solve this problem, follow these 3 steps:
Step 1. Download the installation file
Click the link below to download the latest version of the cryptographic libraries:
https://iit.com.ua/download/productfiles/EUInstall.exe (The file is usually saved in your default «Downloads» folder).
Step 2. Install the update
Find the downloaded EUInstall.exe file and run it by right-clicking and selecting “Run as administrator” from the context menu. Follow the standard installation process and confirm the system prompts by clicking «Next». The previous version of the libraries will be replaced automatically, and there is no need to delete anything beforehand.
Step 3. Restart the computer
For the changes to take effect, be sure to restart the computer where the Torgsoft software is installed.
Important note for networks. If you work in Torgsoft remotely, have a terminal license, and connect through a Remote Desktop shortcut, you must restart the main server computer where the libraries are reinstalled.
After restarting, launch Torgsoft — the error will disappear, and you will be able to continue working with the pECR in normal mode. If you have any questions, you can always contact our technical support service.
What should you do if the pECR does not connect after updating the libraries?
If, after updating the cryptographic libraries, the software ECR does not connect or shows errors, most often the messages «Operation is not supported», «Cryptographic module initialization error», «[EUSignCP.dll] file not found», or «Library is not initialized», the problem usually lies in a lost file path or a lack of access permissions to the updated Windows system folder.
To restore the operation of the pECR, follow these steps:
Step 1. Re-select the library path in the Torgsoft software
After the update, the software may «lose» the path to the system files, so it must be specified again.
-
Open Torgsoft and go to the «Settings» ➔ «Software ECR» menu.
-
Find the «Directory for cryptographic libraries» field.
-
Click the folder selection button, with three dots, and specify the path to the library folder again, usually the EndUser folder at C:\Program Files\Institute of Informational Technologies\Certificate Authority-1.3\EndUser or a similar path.
Step 2. Grant full access to the library folder
After the update, Windows, or antivirus software, may block Torgsoft from accessing the new files.
-
Open File Explorer and find the folder where the libraries are installed, the same EndUser folder.
-
Right-click this folder and select «Properties».
-
Go to the «Security» tab and click the «Edit» button.
-
Click «Add», enter the word Everyone, and click «OK».
-
Select the added «Everyone» group, check the box next to «Full control» in the lower window, and click «OK» to save. (Note: if you work with the pECR over a local network, you must also grant shared network access to this folder).
Step 3. Restart Torgsoft
After completing these actions, be sure to close and reopen the software.
After restarting, try opening a shift in the pECR or making a test sale — the error should disappear. If the connection is still not established, you should contact Torgsoft technical support so that a specialist can connect remotely and check the settings.
