Cannot log into the Torgsoft program

Step 1. Checking login credentials (login and password)

For the demo version: by default use the login — sa, password — 2009.
If the credentials do not work: check the input language, keyboard layout, and Caps Lock status (users often accidentally enter special characters instead of numbers).
Action to check: type the login and password in a plain text document to see the entered characters, and then copy them into the Torgsoft login window.

Step 2. Checking the SQL Server service (for local databases)

The SQL Server database service must be running, otherwise the program will not be able to connect to it.

Press Win + R, type the command services.msc and press Enter.
In the list of services, find SQL Server (for example, SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) or SQL Server (TORGSOFT)).
Check the "Status" column — it should indicate «Running».
If the status is empty or «Stopped», right-click on the service and select «Start».

Step 3. Checking the local network connection (for client PCs)

If the database is located on a single main computer (server), losing connection to it blocks Torgsoft on all other client PCs.

Make sure the main computer is turned on and has network access.
Check if the network equipment settings have changed. For example, if the router was rebooted and issued new IP addresses, or the computer connected to another Wi-Fi network, the local network settings get reset.

Step 4. Checking the remote desktop connection (for terminal/cloud servers)

Connection errors may occur when connecting to a terminal server (RDP).

Make sure your local computer has a stable internet connection.
Make sure the remote server is turned on.
If you are renting a cloud server (VPS), check the provider's personal account: the service provider might have automatically disabled or deleted the server due to lack of payment.

Step 5. Checking the database after a power outage

A sudden computer power loss can damage database files, causing it to go into a Suspect or Recovery Pending emergency state.

For diagnostics, connect to the database via the SQL Server Management Studio utility and check its status.
If the database is in a Suspect state, executing special SQL queries is required to bring it to working mode. It is recommended to contact Torgsoft technical support.

Mandatory technical recommendations:

Protection against failures: use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) configured to properly shut down the OS during a power loss.
Backups: set up automatic creation of Torgsoft database archives and their saving to external media or cloud storage (e.g., Google Drive). This is the only reliable way to quickly restore operation in case of a hard drive breakdown or a ransomware virus attack.

Step 6. Program blocked by antivirus (a very frequent problem)

Antiviruses (Windows Defender, Avast, AVG, 360 Total Security) often mistakenly recognize Torgsoft files as a threat and block them.

Symptoms: the program shortcut disappears, the torgsoft.exe file becomes 0 bytes in size, or an error «Connection to the Torgsoft license service is not established» appears upon startup.

Solution:

open your antivirus or Windows Defender.
Find the «Quarantine» section and restore the torgsoft.exe or TorgsoftLicenceService.exe file.
Be sure to add the entire Torgsoft program folder (and these executable files separately) to the antivirus exceptions list, otherwise the situation will repeat.

Step 7. Error «Exceeded number of program users»

Occurs when the limit of simultaneous connections stipulated by your license is exhausted, or due to «hung» sessions if the program was closed incorrectly (e.g., power failure).

Solution:

make sure other employees have correctly exited Torgsoft.
Restart the TorgsoftLicenceService via the Windows services manager (services.msc).
If this does not help, executing a special SQL query is necessary to clear the hung sessions (this often requires contacting tech support).

Step 8. Corruption of the Win.dat configuration file

Symptoms: upon login, a message appears «Failed to load the list of activated functions», «Error reading the Win.dat file», or the interface language suddenly changes to Russian.

Solution:

go to the Torgsoft folder on the disk.
Replace the corrupted Win.dat file with a correct one (often provided by tech support).
In case of a language failure, also check the AdminServer.ini and AdminServer.bak configuration files.

Step 9. IP address blocked on the server (IPBan)

If Torgsoft is located on a remote terminal or cloud server, the protection system may block your computer.

Symptoms: connection to the remote desktop suddenly disappears, although the server works from other PCs (or from another internet connection).

Solution: the security program (e.g., IPBan) automatically blocks the IP address after several failed connection attempts or entering the wrong password. You need to connect to the server from another IP address (or ask the administrator) and remove your address from the IPBan blacklist.

Step 10. Mismatch between program and database versions

Happens if the program update was interrupted (for example, the computer froze, or the file was occupied by another process).

Symptoms: upon login, the window displays an error like: «The database does not match the executable file... Update the program».

Solution: it is necessary to download the latest Torgsoft update package and run the update manually when all users have exited the program, so that the torgsoft.exe file version synchronizes with the database version.

Step 11. License service failures due to PC settings

Symptoms: the local program suddenly issues the message «The Torgsoft program requires a license», although the license was paid for long ago and is perpetual.

Solution:

open the Windows power settings (Control Panel -> Power Options).
Disable sleep mode for the computer and hard drives (set them to run constantly). A sudden transition of the PC to energy-saving mode breaks the connection with the licensing service.
Restart Torgsoft.

Step 12. License is blacklisted

Symptoms: when trying to launch, a red window appears: «Your license number ... is blacklisted. In 3 days, work with the program will be blocked».

Solution: this is a consequence of the developing company's reaction to violations of the license agreement terms (for example, exceeding the number of allowed cash registers/users without payment, using «pirated» tools, or lack of payment for the service). In this case, it is urgent to contact the Torgsoft order department to resolve the issue.
