This video is from 2013. The program’s design has changed considerably, and it now has more features. However, the operating principles of many modes remain the same or very similar. We are updating the knowledge base and video lessons. Since 2022, videos have been in Ukrainian only.

Access to Menus and Forms

Start with a list of work tasks for each position. In the role settings, select the required role and enable only the main menu items and forms needed for those tasks. If an allowed command opens another form, check that access is enabled for that form too. Save the changes and sign in as the relevant user to see which actions are actually available. Avoid using the same expanded role for different positions unless necessary.

Additional Restrictions

In addition to the role, you can restrict access to accounting centers, stock levels, purchase prices, and cash registers in the user profile. This helps separate a salesperson’s work in one store from data for the entire chain. After changing permissions, check sales, returns, printing, and warehouse operations using test transactions. The webinar was recorded in 2013: keep the general principle of separating access in mind, and check the current parameter names against the updated help documentation.
