Electronic catalog for ordering goods is a Torgsoft option that creates a catalog with prices, photos, and stock balances, where customers can independently view the assortment and place orders.
Wholesale buyers, sales representatives, or regular customers get access to the catalog through a separate client application. They see current product availability, prices, including individual wholesale prices, and create orders without a manager’s involvement. Orders arrive in Torgsoft and appear in the general list for processing.
The option is suitable for wholesale warehouses, distributors, suppliers, and manufacturers working with a network of regular buyers. Connection terms depend on the license and usage scheme — check the option requirements below.
A catalog with stock balances and prices where the customer orders independently
Regular and wholesale buyers see your assortment in the client application and send orders directly to Torgsoft.

What an electronic product catalog is
An electronic product catalog is a separate client program that you provide to your customers. The customer installs it on their computer and sees your assortment: product types, photos, descriptions, current stock balances, and prices. They independently specify the required quantity, create an order, and send it to the server. From there, the order is loaded into your Torgsoft database for further processing.
The catalog does not need a website, online store, or offline outlet. Data is updated through regular file exchange, so the catalog works faster than a typical online store and simplifies repeat orders for regular customers.
Basic concepts
Client application
The TorgSoftClient program that the buyer installs to view the catalog and place orders.
Synchronization object
A setting with the «Electronic catalog» category through which Torgsoft uploads products, photos, and prices.
Transfer channel
An FTP folder on hosting, our server, or your own server where data for the customer catalog is placed.
Remote customer order
The Torgsoft mode where orders sent from client applications appear.
Trade with invoice issuance
A mode where the manager issues an invoice based on the order and then handles the sale and shipment.
Wholesale prices
Separate prices for wholesale buyers that can be shown in the catalog instead of retail prices.
Who this option is for
Wholesale warehouses and distributors
Regular customers choose goods themselves based on current stock balances and wholesale prices, without calls to a manager.
Manufacturers
You sell in batches to regular buyers and want them to see finished goods and place orders without approvals.
Suppliers and sales representatives
Intermediaries take orders from their customers and transfer them to your Torgsoft database.
Retail with regular customers
You have VIP buyers or regular large orders for which a catalog is more convenient than a website.
Who does not need it. If you sell only to occasional retail buyers through the sales floor or already have an online store for all customers, a separate catalog may duplicate existing channels. In that case, it is worth considering website synchronization instead of the catalog.
When to connect it immediately
- you take orders from regular customers by phone or in messages and dictate the assortment manually;
- you work with wholesale prices that differ for different buyers;
- mis-sorting or errors in quantity and names often occur due to manual order taking;
- you want to relieve managers from routine processing of repeat orders.
What tasks the option solves
How it looks before and after
Before
The customer calls, the manager dictates availability and prices, writes down items manually, and checks stock balances in the warehouse. One large order takes time, and errors in quantities and names occur.
After
The customer opens the catalog on their computer, sees current stock balances and their prices, specifies the quantity, and sends the order. The manager receives a ready order in Torgsoft and issues an invoice.
How it works: 5 steps
Connect the option. The option is paid once, after which you can provide the catalog to an unlimited number of your customers without additional payments.
Configure the synchronization object. In the «Warehouse — Synchronization with online store» menu, create an object with the «Electronic catalog» category and specify FTP parameters for goods and photos.
Transfer data to the server. Click «Update», then «Synchronize» and «Transfer». Goods, prices, and photos are uploaded to FTP according to the configured update schedule.
The customer places an order. The buyer installs the client application, views the catalog, specifies the quantity, and sends the order to the server.
Receive the order in Torgsoft. In the «Remote customer order» mode, click «Accept order», issue an invoice, and switch to «Trade with invoice issuance» for sale and shipment.
Important. An invoice can be issued only to a registered customer. If the buyer has not yet been added to the database, first save their data from the order form. It is enough to specify the customer’s personal discount once — the program will then apply it automatically.
Try it in your business
Download the Torgsoft demo version for 30 days and the catalog client application to check the full cycle: from transferring goods to receiving an order. Data remains on your computer.
Option capabilities
Scenarios by niche
Wholesale warehouse
Regular partner stores replenish stock once a week. Instead of calls, they open the catalog, see availability and their prices, and send an order for several dozen items. The manager receives it ready and issues an invoice.
Manufacturer
The enterprise manufactures products in batches for regular customers. Buyers see finished goods ready for shipment and stock balances, create orders independently, and the manufacturer plans dispatches without phone approvals.
Sales representative network
Sales representatives take orders from their customers through the catalog and transfer them to the shared Torgsoft database. Order data reaches the manager without repeated entry.
Example
The scenario is illustrative. A wholesale warehouse of household goods works with regular stores in several regions. Previously, orders were taken by phone and in messengers: the manager dictated availability, wrote down items manually, and then transferred them into the program. A large order took a lot of time, and mis-sorting occurred.
After connecting the catalog, each partner store received the client application with its own wholesale prices. Now partners create orders themselves, and the manager receives them in the «Remote customer order» mode and immediately issues an invoice. Manual item entry has decreased, and errors in quantities and prices have almost disappeared.
Which options and equipment it works with
The catalog uses the same data transfer mechanism as website synchronization, so it works well with the online automation direction.
- Synchronization with online store — for sales through a website in parallel with the catalog.
- Quick adding of product photos — so that the catalog has up-to-date images.
- Address-based product storage in the warehouse — for quick picking of orders from the catalog.
- Torgsoft Online Market — if a full online store is needed for all buyers.
No special equipment is required for catalog operation: the customer’s computer with the installed client application and access to the FTP folder is enough.
Comprehensive automation. The catalog covers the ordering channel from regular and wholesale customers, while the rest of the sales are handled through the usual Torgsoft modes. Together with website synchronization and warehouse accounting, you keep products, prices, and orders in one database.
Price and connection terms
- Licenses. Works with Torgsoft Ultra and Terminal versions. The option is purchased for each workplace for separate versions, or one for the local network, or one for the terminal license server.
- Connection. One-time payment. After connection, you provide the client application to an unlimited number of your customers without additional payments.
- Demo version. Free for 30 days, data remains on your computer.
How to connect
- Leave a request to connect the option or order it in the Torgsoft online store.
- Configure the synchronization object with the «Electronic catalog» category and FTP parameters.
- Provide customers with the client application and start receiving orders into the database.
