Product Storage Location — is a Torgsoft option that supports address-based warehouse storage: each item can be assigned an exact address — row, rack, shelf, or cell.
The employee sees in the program where the product is stored, can find the location by barcode, or view it during sale through «Additional actions» or the ALT + G key combination.
The option is needed for large warehouses, wholesale bases, distributors, online stores with a physical warehouse, and stores with an assortment of 1,000 items or more. It works with Start, Ultra, and Terminal licenses.

What address-based product storage is
Address-based storage means that each item in the warehouse is linked to a specific location: a rack, shelf, row, or cell. The employee does not search for the product blindly but opens the product card or document row and sees the address. The Product Storage Location option transfers this scheme into the program: you create storage locations, generate barcodes for them if needed, and link products to them.

Who this option is for
Large warehouses and wholesale bases
Thousands of items on racks, where searching without an address consumes the picker’s working time.
Construction and household goods stores
Bulky goods on different racks and shelves that must be found quickly during issue.
Online stores with a physical warehouse
Orders are picked by list, so the exact address of each item speeds up shipment.
Distributors and warehouses with high turnover
Products move constantly, so permanent and temporary locations and period control are needed.
Who does not need it. A small store with several hundred items, where the goods are visible and the seller knows the layout by heart. Here, addresses will add work without noticeable benefit.
When to enable it immediately
- assortment from 1,000 items or several warehouse zones;
- orders are picked by a person other than the one who received the goods;
- there is warehouse staff turnover and newcomers who need to navigate quickly;
- some goods are stored temporarily — for transfer or for a customer order.
What tasks the option solves
How it looks before and after
Before
The picker receives an order and goes to search for the items around the warehouse. The shift supervisor knows the layout, so without them newcomers spend twice as much time searching, and some products are taken at random.
After
In the order, the address is visible next to each item: rack, shelf, row. The employee sees the item address and picks the order according to the specified storage locations.
How it works: 6 steps
Enable the mode. In Settings — Parameters — Additional functions, select the storage location operating mode. The recommended one is «Several storage locations in the warehouse».
Create storage locations. In the Warehouse — Storage Location menu, click Add, specify the name (for example, Rack No. 1), generate a barcode if needed, and select the accounting center.
Generate a range. The Generate storage locations button creates addresses according to the shelf × row scheme. You set the prefix (for example, for the rack), the number of shelves and rows, and the numbering type — numeric or alphabetic. A rack with 3 shelves in 5 rows gives 15 storage locations.
Link the product. Select the product from the warehouse stock, scan the barcode, or use the directory. A permanent location can also be added in the product card on the Product Storage Location tab.
Add a temporary location. During internal transfer or in a customer order, specify a temporary address and storage period, scanning the location barcode if needed.
Find the product during sale. On the Sale form, select the item, click Additional actions and choose Product Storage Location, or open the window with ALT + G.
Important. In the «One storage location» mode, the address is filled in only in the product card: there is no location directory, no temporary locations, and no barcodes for quick search. For full functionality, we recommend the «Several storage locations» mode.

Wholesale base
The same product is stored in several zones. The manager sees all item addresses and sends the picker to the one where the balance is closer to the shipping zone.
Construction store
Cement — on rack No. 1, paints — on rack No. 3. The seller finds the item in the program, sees the address, and immediately leads the customer to the required shelf.
Online store
Orders arrive as a list. The picker collects them by addresses without the shift supervisor’s involvement, while temporary locations hold goods for a specific order.
Example
The example is illustrative. A construction store with a large warehouse stores goods on different racks. Cement is stored on rack No. 1 (shelves 2 and 3), paints — on rack No. 3.
The seller receives an order, finds the item in the program, and sees its storage location — Rack No. 1, shelf 2. They go directly to the required shelf and issue the product to the customer without walking around the entire warehouse.
