The problem of reserving products that are temporarily out of stock is typical for entrepreneurs who work with pre-orders or wholesale shipments. The «Awaiting Reservation» status in Torgsoft, in the «Trade with Invoice» mode, is a special mechanism that records the shortage of the required product in the warehouse at the moment when you try to reserve it for a created invoice.
This mode is needed so that the system remembers the customer's demand and allows the manager to control which product must be additionally ordered from the supplier and added to reserve later.
How the «Awaiting Reservation» status works
The reservation process in the «Trade with Invoice» mode (TWI) is closely linked to actual warehouse stock balances. The logic works as follows:

Creating an invoice and adding a product. The user creates an invoice and adds a product to it.

Attempting to reserve. When the «Reserve Product» action is clicked, the program checks availability in the warehouse.

Distribution into available and awaiting quantities. If there is enough product, it is fully reserved. If the quantity in the warehouse is less than specified in the invoice, or the product is completely unavailable, the available quantity is moved to reserve, and the shortage is automatically added to the «Product Awaiting Reservation» list.
At the same time, the program displays a relevant message about the shortage of goods for placement in reserve and indicates the quantity that will be moved to awaiting status.
How to cancel awaiting reservation
Situations often arise when a customer refuses part of an order, or the manager understands that the product no longer needs to be awaited.
Currently, awaiting reservation can be canceled in two ways:

Method 1: Quick cancellation (Recommended)
A separate system action was added for user convenience.

Go to the «Trade with Invoice» mode.

On the «Invoice» tab, in the «Invoice» or «Invoice Product» tables, find the «Reserve» action group.

Select the product awaiting reservation and click the «Cancel Awaiting Reservation» action. This action instantly removes the awaiting status from the product, and the system will no longer require its availability for this invoice.

Method 2: Manual deletion from the «Reserve» tab
This method was previously used as the only available option, but it is still relevant.

In the «Trade with Invoice» mode, go to the lower «Reserve» tab.

Find the «Product Awaiting Reservation» table or form.

Manually select the product that no longer needs to be awaited and delete it from the waiting list.
Using the «Cancel Awaiting Reservation» action helps avoid products getting «stuck» in reports and maintain order in interactions with suppliers and in store orders.
