To set up pricing for wholesale customers in Torgsoft without chaos and manual discount entry at the checkout, the system offers several levels of automation: from basic wholesale price setup to a flexible policy based on product quantity and individual price lists.

Here is a step-by-step strategy for how to implement this using the program’s functionality:

1. Basic level: fixed wholesale price in the product card

This is the foundation of wholesale trade. You set the wholesale price (or markup) once, and it is automatically applied for the relevant customers or depending on the quantity of goods.

  • How it works. In the product card (or upon receipt), you fill in the fields «Wholesale Price» or «Wholesale Markup (%)», «Wholesale Quantity». If you specify a markup, the program will automatically calculate the price from the purchase cost.
  • Bulk change. To avoid changing prices manually for each product, use the mode «Calculation of Retail and Wholesale Prices by Markup and Exchange Rate» (Warehouse — Calculation...). Here you can bulk set a wholesale markup for a product group or recalculate prices depending on the exchange rate.

2. Volume-based automation: Wholesale Pricing Policy

This is the ideal option to avoid «manual exceptions» when the price depends on the quantity of goods purchased (for example, "small wholesale", "medium wholesale", "large wholesale").

  1. You select the product type (group).
  2. You create threshold levels (for example, from 5 pcs., from 10 pcs., from 50 pcs.).
  3. For each threshold, you set a Markup % (from the purchase price) or a Discount % (from the retail price).
  4. You click «Generate Wholesale Prices», and the program will automatically assign prices for all goods in the group.

Result. When adding a product to a sale, the price will automatically change depending on the quantity in the receipt. The seller does not need to remember the pricing tiers.
Important. Policy prices apply to the entire retail chain.

3. Individual approach: Customer Personal Price List

If you have VIP wholesale customers with whom you have signed an agreement for fixed prices that should not depend on current warehouse changes, use this tool.

  • Tool. Menu «Document — Customer Price List».

  • How it works:

  1. You select a specific customer.
  2. You create a list of goods for them.
  3. You fix an individual price (manually or through markup/discount calculation specifically for this price list).

Result. After that, when this customer purchases goods, the sale will be processed exactly at the prices from their personal price list, ignoring the standard warehouse prices. This completely eliminates the human factor.

4. Discounts for specific brands: Wholesale discounts by manufacturer

This method is suitable if your wholesale customer specializes in specific brands (for example, a regional dealer of a certain brand).

  • Tool. Menu «Marketing — Wholesale Discounts by Manufacturer».

  • How it works. You select the customer and the manufacturer, then specify the discount percentage.

  • Program logic. If you sell goods to this customer at the wholesale price, the program will additionally apply this discount specifically to goods from the selected manufacturer. If a product is under promotion, the program will automatically choose the more beneficial discount for the customer (promotional or individual).

So that the cashier does not have to think about which price to choose, you need to set up the customer card correctly.

  • Setup. In the customer card (Marketing — Customers — Edit), in the «Trade Type» field, select the «Wholesale» status.

  • Result:

    • As soon as you scan this customer’s card in the sale, the program automatically switches to wholesale prices.

    • You do not need to manually change the sale type — the system itself will apply the wholesale prices, wholesale pricing policy, or individual price list that you have configured.

Summary: how to avoid chaos

  1. Divide customers into groups (regular wholesale, VIP, brand dealers).

  2. Assign them the «Wholesale» status in the customer card.

  3. For mass wholesale, use the Wholesale Pricing Policy (automatic pricing based on quantity).

  4. For special customers, create a Customer Price List (to fix agreements).

  5. Use reports (for example, printing a wholesale price list) to send current offers to partners.
