In a small store, at a fair, during off-site sales, or for deliveries, it is not always convenient to use a separate bank POS terminal. If the seller's smartphone supports contactless payments, the customer can tap a card, phone, or watch against it and pay just as they would with a regular terminal. Let's look at whether a separate POS terminal is required, which banks are supported, how the sale amount is transferred to the banking app, and how the PECR works in this case.
How Does a “Terminal in a Smartphone” Work?
In this scenario, the seller's smartphone acts as a device for accepting card payments.
For this, the phone must have NFC — a contactless communication module that is usually used for making payments with a phone. Here, however, it works in the opposite direction: the customer taps their card or device against the seller's smartphone.
The Torgsoft mobile app provides separate settings for monobank and PrivatBank terminals.
The following are used to accept payments via smartphone:
-
PrivatBank — the “Terminal” app with Tap to Pay technology;
-
monobank — the tapXPhone app.
Both options support Android and iOS. PrivatBank requires a customer token, while monobank requires a payment device identifier.
This is not a QR payment. With QRPayMono, the customer scans a code with their phone. Here, the customer taps a card or phone against the seller's smartphone.
What Is Required to Accept Payments?
This type of workstation requires the Torgsoft mobile app, an NFC-enabled smartphone, a payment acceptance service activated with the bank, and a banking app for accepting payments. The “Integration with a Bank Terminal” option must also be active. The mobile app itself connects to the main Torgsoft database, where sales, products, and financial transactions are stored.
In the mobile app settings, you need to configure “Mono Terminal” or “PrivatBank Terminal”. The connection details must be obtained from the corresponding bank.
If sales need to be fiscalized, the PECR for the mobile app must be configured separately. The PECR is first added in the main Torgsoft software, after which it is selected in the mobile app in the “Receipt Type” field.

How Does the Seller Accept Payment?
For example, a customer purchases a product for UAH 850.
-
The seller creates the sale in the “Sale” mode of the Torgsoft mobile app.
-
The seller taps “Pay” and selects cashless payment.
-
Torgsoft transfers the UAH 850 amount to the configured banking app.
-
The customer taps a card, their smartphone, or another contactless payment device against the seller's smartphone.
-
After the bank confirms the payment, it is recorded in Torgsoft. If a PECR is configured for the mobile app, a fiscal receipt is generated.

The cashier does not need to enter UAH 850 separately in the banking app. The amount is taken from the completed sale.
Is a Separate POS Terminal Required?
A separate physical POS terminal is not required for this payment scenario: the payment is accepted using the seller's compatible smartphone.
This is convenient, for example, for a courier, a fair, a small retail outlet, or an additional mobile workstation. At the same time, a smartphone does not replace every checkout scenario in a store — it is one option for organizing a specific workstation.
Important limitation: this payment method works specifically through the Torgsoft mobile app. If a sale is processed in the standard Torgsoft software on Windows, the smartphone's NFC cannot be used as a bank terminal. For a computer-based checkout, the bank terminal connection must be configured separately.
How Does the PECR Work?
Card payment and a fiscal receipt are two related but separate operations.
The bank confirms that the customer has paid. The PECR registers the sale with the tax authority.
To fiscalize sales from a phone, you need to configure the PECR in advance for use with the mobile app and then select it as the receipt type. After a fiscalized product is sold, a fiscal receipt is displayed in the app and can be provided to the customer if necessary.
If a PECR is not selected, the mobile app uses a non-fiscal sales receipt by default.
What Should You Do If the Customer Paid but the Sale Was Not Completed?
The most important rule in this situation is not to process the payment again until the first transaction has been checked.
For example, the customer tapped their card, the bank showed a successful payment, but Torgsoft did not complete the sale due to a connection issue. First, check the transaction result in the banking app and the sale status in Torgsoft. Only then determine whether the payment needs to be repeated or the document needs to be corrected in the software.
Can a Refund Be Processed from the Mobile App?
The Torgsoft mobile app has a separate “Product Return” mode. Integration with a bank terminal also supports refunds.
However, the way the bank processes a card payment refund depends on the specific payment service. Therefore, the cashier should not rely on a universal rule such as “the same card must be tapped”: the requirements should be checked with the connected bank.
When Is This Option Convenient?
A terminal in a smartphone is useful wherever the seller already works with the Torgsoft mobile app: during off-site sales, deliveries, at fairs, or at an additional mobile workstation. A single device can be used to create a sale, accept a cashless payment, and, if a PECR is configured, generate a fiscal receipt.
The main sequence for the seller is simple: create the sale in Torgsoft → select cashless payment → wait for bank confirmation → complete the sale and fiscalization. If the payment result is unclear, first check the transaction that has already been created rather than initiating the payment again.
