The error means that the pECR received an incorrect response from the server of the State Tax Service of Ukraine (a corrupted gzip archive). This is a technical failure on the side of the State Tax Service, not an error in Torgsoft settings.
When the gzip decompression error appears

How to understand that the failure occurred on the side of the State Tax Service

Why the pECR returns a gzip error

Failure in the response from the State Tax Service server — the server returned a corrupted gzip packet.

Temporary overload of the State Tax Service gateway — the request was accepted, but the response was generated incorrectly.
Important: this error does not indicate a Torgsoft malfunction or incorrect pECR settings.
What to do in case of a gzip error
Step 1. Repeat the operation (main solution)
In most cases, the failure is short-term.

Wait 1–2 minutes.

Press Payment / Fiscalization again.
Expected result: the receipt is processed successfully without additional actions.
Step 2. Check the receipt status (if necessary)
If the error repeats:

Log in to the Taxpayer’s Electronic Cabinet.

Check whether the receipt appears among the registered ones.
-
If the receipt is there — do not process it again in Torgsoft (to avoid duplication).

If the receipt is not there (a typical situation for a gzip error) — proceed to Step 3.
Step 3. Work in offline mode (if the State Tax Service is unavailable for a long time)

Switch the pECR to offline mode (if there is a time limit and reserved fiscal numbers are available).

Continue working — the receipts will be sent automatically after the connection is restored.
How to check that the issue has been resolved

The receipt has received a fiscal number.

The error message no longer appears.

The operation is displayed in the pECR history.
How to reduce the risk of the error recurring

Update Torgsoft to the latest version. The new versions implement improved processing of responses from the State Tax Service so that such failures do not appear as a critical error.

During mass failures, check announcements from the State Tax Service about technical maintenance.
What is important to remember
If a gzip error appears — it is a failure on the side of the State Tax Service.
The correct action: wait 1–2 minutes and repeat the operation.
In case of a prolonged failure — switch to offline mode.
